28 ”Resten av folket, prästerna, leviterna, dörrvakterna, sångarna och tempeltjänarna och alla, som hade avskilt sig från de främmande folken för Guds lags skull, deras hustrur, söner och döttrar, som var tillräckligt gamla för att förstå, 29 alla dessa förenade sig nu med sina främsta bröder och svor dyrt och heligt en ed att hålla Guds lag, som getts genom Guds tjänare Mose, och att noga följa alla Herrens, vår Herres bud, befallningar och stadgar.
30 Vi lovar att inte gifta bort våra döttrar med män från främmande folk och inte heller ta deras döttrar till hustrur åt våra söner.
31 När folken i landet kommer och vill sälja varor eller spannmål på en sabbatsdag, ska vi inte köpa av dem, vare sig på sabbaten eller på någon annan helig dag. Vart sjunde år lovar vi att låta marken vila och efterskänka alla fordringar.
32 Vi tar på oss ansvaret att årligen betala en tredjedels sikel[a] till tjänsten i vår Guds hus, 33 för skådebröden, de dagliga matoffren och brännoffren, offren på sabbatsdagarna, nymånadsfesterna och högtiderna, de heliga offren och syndoffren för Israels försoning och till allt arbete i vår Guds hus.
34 Vi, präster, leviter och allt folket har kastat lott om vedoffret, när varje familj ska föra det till vår Guds hus på bestämda tider varje år, för att brinna på Herrens, vår Guds altare, som det är föreskrivet i lagen.
35 Vi lovar också att varje år föra det första av skörden från vår mark och av frukten från alla slags träd till Herrens tempel.
36 Så som lagen föreskriver ska vi föra till Guds hus de förstfödda av våra söner och vår boskap, både av vår nötboskap och småboskap, till prästerna som tjänstgör där. 37 Vi ska föra till prästernas förråd i vår Guds hus det första av vårt mjöl, våra offergåvor och det första av frukterna från alla slags träd, av vin och olja. Vi ska också ge leviterna en tiondel av det vår mark ger, dem som samlar in tiondet i alla städer på landsbygden[b]. 38 En präst, en av Arons ättlingar, ska vara med när leviterna tar emot tiondet, och leviterna ska föra en tiondel av tiondet till vår Guds hus, till förrådskamrarna. 39 Både israeliterna och leviterna ska nämligen föra sin gåva av säd, vin och olja till dessa förråd, där helgedomens kärl och de tjänstgörande prästerna, dörrvakterna och sångarna är.
Vi ska aldrig försumma vår Guds hus.”

28 Il resto del popolo, i sacerdoti, i Leviti, i portinai, i cantori, i Nethinei, e tutti quelli che si erano separati dai popoli dei paesi stranieri per seguire la legge di DIO, le loro mogli, i loro figli e le loro figlie, tutti quelli che avevano conoscenza e intelligenza,
29 si unirono ai loro fratelli, i piú ragguardevoli fra loro, e si impegnarono con esecrazione e giuramento a camminare nella legge di DIO data per mezzo di Mosè servo di DIO, e ad osservare e mettere in pratica tutti i comandamenti dell'Eterno, il nostro Signore, i suoi decreti e i suoi statuti,
30 a non dare le nostre figlie ai popoli del paese e a non prendere le loro figlie per i nostri figli,
31 a non comprare nulla in giorno di sabato o in altro giorno sacro dai popoli che portassero a vendere in giorno di sabato qualunque genere di merci e di cereali, a lasciar riposare la terra ogni settimo anno e a non riscuotere alcun debito.
32 Ci impegnammo tassativamente di pagare ogni anno il terzo di un per il servizio della casa del nostro DIO,
33 per i pani della presentazione, per l'oblazione perpetua di cibo, per l'olocausto perpetuo dei sabati, dei noviluni, delle feste stabilite, per le cose consacrate, per le offerte per il peccato, per fare espiazione, per Israele e per ogni lavoro della casa del nostro DIO.
34 Inoltre tirammo a sorte tra i sacerdoti, i Leviti e il popolo circa l'offerta della legna da portare nella casa del nostro DIO, ogni anno a tempi fissati, secondo le nostre case paterne, perché bruciasse sull'altare dell'Eterno, il nostro DIO, come sta scritto nella legge.
35 Ci impegnammo pure a portare ogni anno nella casa dell'Eterno le primizie del nostro suolo e le primizie di tutti i frutti di ogni albero,
36 e i primogeniti dei nostri figli e del nostro bestiame, come sta scritto nella legge, e i primogeniti delle nostre mandrie e delle nostre greggi per presentarli nella casa del nostro DIO ai sacerdoti che prestano servizio nella casa del nostro DIO.
37 Inoltre ci impegnammo a portare ai sacerdoti nelle camere della casa del nostro DIO le primizie della nostra pasta, le nostre offerte, i frutti di ogni albero, del mosto e dell'olio, e ai Leviti la decima del nostro suolo; i Leviti stessi preleveranno le decime in tutte le città dove noi lavoriamo.
38 Un sacerdote, discendente di Aaronne, sarà con i Leviti quando i Leviti preleveranno le decime; e i Leviti porteranno la decima della decima alla casa del nostro DIO nelle camere della tesoreria,
39 perché in quelle camere i figli d'Israele e i figli di Levi porteranno l'offerta del frumento, del mosto e dell'olio; qui sono gli utensili del santuario, i sacerdoti che prestano servizio, i portinai e i cantori. Noi non abbandoneremo la casa del nostro DIO.

28 And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding;
29 They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;
30 And that we would not give our daughters unto the people of the land, not take their daughters for our sons:
31 And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.
32 Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;
33 For the shewbread, and for the continual meat offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.
34 And we cast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of the Lord our God, as it is written in the law:
35 And to bring the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, unto the house of the Lord:
36 Also the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, unto the priests that minister in the house of our God:
37 And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.
38 And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.
39 For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.
