¹⁸ that by two ^[a]immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to ^(A)lie, we ^[b]might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope ^(B)set before us.

¹⁸ On the same day the Lord ^(A)made a covenant with Abram, saying:

^(B)“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— ¹⁹ the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, ²⁰ the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, ²¹ the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”

⁶ And he ^(A)believed in the Lord, and He ^(B)accounted it to him for righteousness.

¹⁴ “Behold, this day ^(A)I^[a] am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that ^(B)not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.

The Promise Fulfilled

⁴³ So the Lord gave to Israel ^(A)all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they ^(B)took possession of it and dwelt in it. ^44 (C)The Lord gave them ^(D)rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And ^(E)not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. ^45 (F)Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

⁷ And I will ^(A)establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, ^(B)to be God to you and ^(C)your descendants after you. ⁸ Also ^(D)I give to you and your descendants after you the land ^(E)in^[a] which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and ^(F)I will be their God.”

^7 (A)Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, ^(B)“To your ^[a]descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an ^(C)altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

⁹ If we ^(A)confess our sins, He is ^(B)faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to ^(C)cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
