Dregerea zidurilor Ierusalimului
3 Marele preot Eliaşib(A) s-a sculat împreună cu fraţii săi, preoţii, şi au zidit(B) Poarta Oilor. Au sfinţit-o şi i-au pus uşile; au sfinţit-o de la turnul Mea(C), până la turnul(D) lui Hananeel. 2 Alături de Eliaşib au zidit şi oamenii(E) din Ierihon; alături de el a zidit şi Zacur, fiul lui Imri. 3 Fiii lui Senaa au zidit Poarta(F) Peştilor. Au acoperit-o cu scânduri şi i-au pus uşile(G), încuietorile şi zăvoarele. 4 Alături de ei, a lucrat la dregerea zidului Meremot fiul lui Urie, fiul lui Hacoţ; alături de ei a lucrat Meşulam, fiul lui Berechia, fiul lui Meşezabeel; alături de ei a lucrat Ţadoc, fiul lui Baana; 5 alături de ei au lucrat tecoiţii, ai căror fruntaşi nu s-au supus în slujba(H) Domnului. 6 Ioiada, fiul lui Paseah, şi Meşulam, fiul lui Besodia, au dres poarta(I) cea veche. Au acoperit-o cu scânduri şi i-au pus uşile, încuietorile şi zăvoarele. 7 Alături de ei au lucrat Melatia, Gabaonitul, Iadon, Meronotitul, şi oamenii din Gabaon şi Miţpa, până la scaunul(J) dregătorului de dincoace de râul Eufrat; 8 alături de ei a lucrat Uziel, fiul lui Harhaia, dintre argintari, şi alături de el a lucrat Hanania, dintre făcătorii de mir. A zidit-o şi i-a pus uşile, încuietorile şi zăvoarele. 15 Şalun, fiul lui Col-Hoze, mai-marele peste ţinutul Miţpa, a dres Poarta(O) Izvorului. A zidit-o, a acoperit-o cu scânduri şi i-a pus uşile, încuietorile şi zăvoarele. A făcut zidul iazului Siloe(P) lângă grădina împăratului, până la treptele care pogoară din cetatea lui David. 16 După el, Neemia, fiul lui Azbuc, mai-marele peste jumătate din ţinutul Bet-Ţurului, a lucrat la dregerea zidului până în faţa mormintelor lui David, până la iazul(Q) care fusese zidit şi până la casa vitejilor. 17 După el, au lucrat leviţii, Rehum, fiul lui Bani, şi alături de el a lucrat, pentru ţinutul său, Haşabia, mai-marele peste jumătate din ţinutul Cheila. 18 După el, au lucrat fraţii lor, Bavai, fiul lui Henadad, mai-marele peste jumătate din ţinutul Cheila, 19 şi alături de el, Ezer, fiul lui Iosua, mai-marele Miţpei, a dres o altă parte a zidului, în faţa suişului casei armelor, în unghi(R). 20 După el, Baruc, fiul lui Zabai, a dres cu râvnă o altă parte, de la unghi până la poarta casei marelui preot Eliaşib. 21 După el, Meremot, fiul lui Urie, fiul lui Hacoţ, a dres o altă parte, de la poarta casei lui Eliaşib până la capătul casei lui Eliaşib. 22 După el, au lucrat preoţii din împrejurimile Ierusalimului. 23 După ei, Beniamin şi Haşub au lucrat în dreptul casei lor. După ei, Azaria, fiul lui Maaseia, fiul lui Anania, a lucrat lângă casa lui. 24 După el, Binui, fiul lui Henadad, a dres o altă parte, de la casa lui Azaria până la unghi(S) şi până la colţ. 25 Palal, fiul lui Uzai, a lucrat în faţa unghiului şi în faţa turnului de sus, care iese înainte din casa împăratului, lângă curtea(T) temniţei. După el, a lucrat Pedaia, fiul lui Pareoş. 26 Slujitorii(U) Templului care locuiesc pe deal(V) au lucrat până în dreptul Porţii(W) Apelor, la răsărit, şi până în dreptul turnului care iese în afară. 27 După el, tecoiţii au dres o altă parte în dreptul turnului celui mare, care iese în afară până la zidul dealului. 28 Deasupra Porţii(X) Cailor, preoţii au lucrat fiecare înaintea casei lui. 29 După ei, Ţadoc, fiul lui Imer, a lucrat înaintea casei lui. După el, a lucrat Şemaia, fiul lui Şecania, păzitorul porţii de la răsărit. 30 După el, Hanania, fiul lui Şelemia, şi Hanun, al şaselea fiu al lui Ţalaf, au dres o altă parte a zidului. 3 Then (A)Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests (B)and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors. They built (C)as far as the Tower of [a]the Hundred, and consecrated it, then as far as the Tower of (D)Hananel. 2 [b]Next to Eliashib (E)the men of Jericho built. And next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.
3 Also the sons of Hassenaah built (F)the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and (G)hung its doors with its bolts and bars. 4 And next to them (H)Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of [c]Koz, made repairs. Next to them (I)Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabel, made repairs. Next to them Zadok the son of Baana made repairs. 5 Next to them the Tekoites made repairs; but their nobles did not put their [d]shoulders to (J)the work of their Lord.
6 Moreover Jehoiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah repaired (K)the Old Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors, with its bolts and bars. 7 And next to them Melatiah the Gibeonite, Jadon the Meronothite, the (L)men of Gibeon and Mizpah, repaired the (M)residence[e] of the governor of the region [f]beyond the River. 8 Next to him Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs. Also next to him Hananiah, [g]one of the perfumers, made repairs; and they [h]fortified Jerusalem as far as the (N)Broad Wall. 9 And next to them Rephaiah the son of Hur, leader of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs. 10 Next to them Jedaiah the son of Harumaph made repairs in front of his house. And next to him Hattush the son of Hashabniah made repairs.
11 Malchijah the son of Harim and Hashub the son of Pahath-Moab repaired another section, (O)as well as the Tower of the Ovens. 12 And next to him was Shallum the son of Hallohesh, leader of half the district of Jerusalem; he and his daughters made repairs.
13 Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired (P)the Valley Gate. They built it, hung its doors with its bolts and bars, and repaired a thousand cubits of the wall as far as (Q)the Refuse Gate.
14 Malchijah the son of Rechab, leader of the district of (R)Beth Haccerem, repaired the Refuse Gate; he built it and hung its doors with its bolts and bars.
15 Shallun the son of Col-Hozeh, leader of the district of Mizpah, repaired (S)the Fountain Gate; he built it, covered it, hung its doors with its bolts and bars, and repaired the wall of the Pool of (T)Shelah[i] by the (U)King’s Garden, as far as the stairs that go down from the City of David. 16 After him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, leader of half the district of Beth Zur, made repairs as far as the place in front of the [j]tombs of David, to the (V)man-made pool, and as far as the House of the Mighty.
17 After him the Levites, under Rehum the son of Bani, made repairs. Next to him Hashabiah, leader of half the district of Keilah, made repairs for his district. 18 After him their brethren, under [k]Bavai the son of Henadad, leader of the other half of the district of Keilah, made repairs. 19 And next to him Ezer the son of Jeshua, the leader of Mizpah, repaired another section in front of the Ascent to the Armory at the (W)buttress.[l] 20 After him Baruch the son of [m]Zabbai carefully repaired the other section, from the [n]buttress to the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest. 21 After him Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of [o]Koz, repaired another section, from the door of the house of Eliashib to the end of the house of Eliashib.
22 And after him the priests, the men of the plain, made repairs. 23 After him Benjamin and Hasshub made repairs opposite their house. After them Azariah the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ananiah, made repairs by his house. 24 After him (X)Binnui the son of Henadad repaired another section, from the house of Azariah to (Y)the [p]buttress, even as far as the corner. 25 Palal the son of Uzai made repairs opposite the [q]buttress, and on the tower which projects from the king’s upper house that was by the (Z)court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh made repairs.
26 Moreover (AA)the Nethinim who dwelt in (AB)Ophel made repairs as far as the place in front of (AC)the Water Gate toward the east, and on the projecting tower. 27 After them the Tekoites repaired another section, next to the great projecting tower, and as far as the wall of Ophel.
28 Beyond the (AD)Horse Gate the priests made repairs, each in front of his own house. 29 After them Zadok the son of Immer made repairs in front of his own house. After him Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, made repairs. 30 After him Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section. After him Meshullam the son of Berechiah made repairs in front of his [r]dwelling. 31 After him Malchijah, [s]one of the goldsmiths, made repairs as far as the house of the Nethinim and of the merchants, in front of the [t]Miphkad Gate, and as far as the upper room at the corner. 32 And between the upper room at the corner, as far as the (AE)Sheep Gate, the goldsmiths and the merchants made repairs.

2 And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.
3 But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
4 And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.
5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
7 And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.
8 Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
9 And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.
10 And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.
11 Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.
12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
13 The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
14 But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
15 But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king's garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.
16 After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.
17 After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
18 After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.
19 And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.
20 After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
21 After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.
22 And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.
23 After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.
24 After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.
25 Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king's high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.
26 Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.
27 After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.
28 From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.
29 After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.
30 After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.
31 After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith's son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.

After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh 26 (AM)and the temple servants living on (AN)Ophel repaired to a point opposite (AO)the Water Gate on the east and the projecting tower. 27 After him (AP)the Tekoites repaired another section opposite the great projecting tower as far as the wall of Ophel.
28 Above (AQ)the Horse Gate the priests repaired, each one opposite his own house. 29 After them Zadok the son of Immer repaired opposite his own house. After him Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, repaired. 30 After him Hananiah the son of Shelemiah and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph repaired another section.
