⁶ let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear^(A) the prayer^(B) your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess^(C) the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you.

“Lord, the great and awesome God,^(B) who keeps his covenant of love^(C) with those who love him and keep his commandments,

⁴⁰ “Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive^(A) to the prayers offered in this place.

¹⁷ “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor^(A) on your desolate sanctuary. ¹⁸ Give ear,^(B) our God, and hear;^(C) open your eyes and see^(D) the desolation of the city that bears your Name.^(E) We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.^(F)
