⁴ Now when I heard these words, ^(A)I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before ^(B)the God of heaven.

³ So I gave my ^[a]attention to the Lord God, to seek Him by prayer and pleading, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.

³⁷ and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She did not leave the temple grounds, serving night and day with ^(A)fasts and prayers.

³³ And they said to Him, “^(A)The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees also do ^[a]the same, but Yours eat and drink.”

³ Then, when they had fasted, ^(A)prayed, and ^(B)laid their hands on them, ^(C)they sent them away.

²³ When ^(A)they had appointed ^(B)elders for them in every church, having ^(C)prayed with fasting, they ^(D)entrusted them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
