¹⁰ Then he said to them, “Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and ^(A)send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

⁶ He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, ^[a]does so for the Lord, for he ^(A)gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. ⁷ For not one of us ^(B)lives for himself, and not one dies for himself;

³¹ Whether, then, you eat or drink or ^(A)whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
