¹² Then they said, “We ^(A)will give it back and ^(B)will require nothing from them; we will do exactly as you say.” So I called the priests and ^(C)took an oath from them that they would do according to this ^[a]promise.

²⁵ So ^(A)I contended with them and cursed them and ^(B)struck some of them and pulled out their hair, and ^(C)made them swear by God, “You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take of their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.
