¹² Then they said, “We ^(A)will give it back and ^(B)will require nothing from them; we will do exactly as you are saying.” So I called the priests and ^(C)made them swear that they would do according to this word.

²⁵ So ^(A)I contended with them and cursed them and ^(B)struck some of them and pulled out their hair and ^(C)made them swear by God, “You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take up their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.
