13 I went out by night by (A)the Valley Gate to the Dragon Spring and to (B)the Dung Gate, and I inspected the walls of Jerusalem (C)that were broken down (D)and its gates that had been destroyed by fire. 14 Then I went on to (E)the Fountain Gate and to (F)the King's Pool, but there was no room for the animal that was under me to pass. 15 Then I went up in the night (G)by the valley and inspected the wall, and I turned back and entered by the Valley Gate, and so returned.

13 By night I went out through the Valley Gate(A) toward the Jackal[a] Well and the Dung Gate,(B) examining the walls(C) of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire. 14 Then I moved on toward the Fountain Gate(D) and the King’s Pool,(E) but there was not enough room for my mount to get through; 15 so I went up the valley by night, examining the wall. Finally, I turned back and reentered through the Valley Gate.
