8 I was furious. So I threw all of Tobiah’s household goods out of the room. 9 Then I told them to cleanse the rooms, and I put back in there the utensils from Elohim’s temple, the offerings, and the incense.
Nehemiah Ensures That the Levites Receive Their Portion of the Offerings
10 I learned that the Levites had not been given their portions. So each of the Levites and singers, who conducted the worship in the temple, had left for their own fields.

8 I was greatly displeased and threw all Tobiah’s household goods out of the room.(A) 9 I gave orders to purify the rooms,(B) and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense.(C)
10 I also learned that the portions assigned to the Levites had not been given to them,(D) and that all the Levites and musicians responsible for the service had gone back to their own fields.(E)
