Nehemiah 1:4-6

4 When I heard this, I sat down on the ground and cried. Then for several days, I mourned; I went without eating to show my sorrow, and I prayed:
5 Lord God of heaven, you are great and fearsome. And you faithfully keep your promises to everyone who loves you and obeys your commands. 6 I am your servant, so please have mercy on me and answer the prayer that I make day and night for these people of Israel who serve you. I, my family, and the rest of your people have sinned

New International Version
4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept.(A) For some days I mourned and fasted(B) and prayed before the God of heaven. 5 Then I said:
“Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God,(C) who keeps his covenant of love(D) with those who love him and keep his commandments, 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear(E) the prayer(F) your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess(G) the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you.
