Jeruzsálem újra benépesül(A)
11 Izráel vezetői Jeruzsálembe költöztek, és ott telepedtek le. A többiek közül sorsolással választották ki azokat a családokat, akik szintén oda költöztek. Minden tizedik férfit kisorsolták, hogy a szent városban lakjon, a többiek pedig a saját városukban maradtak. 2 Mindenki áldotta azokat, akik önként vállalkoztak rá, hogy beköltöznek Jeruzsálembe.
3 Júda tartományának vezetői szintén Jeruzsálembe költöztek. A többi júdai lakos: a papok, a léviták, a Templom szolgái, Salamon szolgáinak leszármazottjai és a közemberek mind a saját városukban, a tulajdon birtokukon maradtak.
4 Júda és Benjámin törzséből egyesek Jeruzsálemben telepedtek le.
Júda törzséből a következők költöztek Jeruzsálembe:
Atájá, Uzzijjá fia (Uzzijjá Zekarjá fia, aki Amarjá fia, aki Sefatjá fia, aki Mahalalél fia volt — valamennyien Pérec leszármazottjai), azután 5 Maaszéja, Bárúk fia (Bárúk Kol-Hóze fia, aki Hazája fia, aki Adájá fia, aki Jójárib fia, aki Zekarjá fia, aki Hassilóni fia volt). 6 Pérec leszármazottjai közül összesen 468 bátor férfi telepedett le Jeruzsálemben a családjával együtt.
7 Benjámin törzséből a következők költöztek Jeruzsálembe:
Szallu, Messulám fia (Messulám Jóéd fia, aki Pedájá fia, aki Kólájá fia, aki Maaszéjá fia, aki Ítiél fia, aki Jesája fia volt). 8 Azután Gabbaj, Szallaj és még sokan mások, összesen 928 férfi. 9 A vezetőjük Jóel, Zikri fia volt. Júda, Hasszenúá fia volt a város helyettes vezetője.
10 A papok közül ezek költöztek Jeruzsálembe:
Jedajá, Jójárib fia; azután Jákin; 11 azután Szerájá, Hilkijjá fia (Hilkijjá Mesullám fia, aki Cádók fia, aki Merájót fia, aki Ahitúbnak, Isten Temploma felügyelőjének a fia volt); 12 azután a rokonaik közül 822 férfi, akik a Templom körüli munkákat végezték; azután Adájá, Jehórám fia (Jehórám Pedaljá fia, aki Amci fia, aki Zekarjá fia, aki Pashúr fia, aki Malkijjá fia volt) 13 és vele a rokonai közül 242 családfő a családjával együtt; azután Amasszaj, Azarél fia (Azarél Ahzaj fia, aki Mesillémót fia, aki Immér fia volt) 14 és vele a rokonai közül 128 bátor férfi a családjával, akiknek a vezetője Zabdiél, Haggedólim fia volt.
15 A léviták közül ezek költöztek Jeruzsálembe:
Semajá, Hassúb fia (Hassúb Azrikám fia, aki Hasabjá fia, aki Bunni fia volt); 16 azután a léviták vezetői közül Sabbetaj és Józábád, akik a Templom épületének külső munkáiért voltak felelősek; 17 azután Mattanjá, Mika fia (Mika Zabdi fia, aki Aszáf fia volt), az énekesek vezetője, aki a hálaadó dicséretet szokta elkezdeni; azután Bakbukjá, aki a vezető után a második volt; azután Abdá, Sammúa fia (Sammúa Gálál fia, aki Jedútún fia volt). 18 Összesen 284 lévita lakott a szent városban.
19 A kapuőrök közül Akkúb, Talmón és a rokonaik költöztek Jeruzsálembe, összesen 172 férfi és a családjaik. Ők álltak őrt a kapuknál.
Uzzi Ászáf leszármazottjai közé tartozott, akik Isten Templomában énekesek voltak — ők vezették a dicséretet.
Tehát a Júda törzsébe tartozók népesítették be a vidéket Beérsebától a Hinnóm-völgyig.
31 A Benjámin törzsébe tartozók a következő településeken laktak: Geba, Mikmász, Ajja, Bétel és falvai, 32 Anátót, Nób, Ananja, 33 Hácór, Ráma, Gittaim, 34 Hádíd, Cebóim, Neballat, 35 Lód, Ónó és a Mesteremberek Völgye. 36 A léviták csoportjai részben Júda területén, részben Benjámin között telepedtek le.
