Los que se establecieron en Jerusalén
11 Los líderes del pueblo se establecieron en Jerusalén. Entre el resto del pueblo se hizo un sorteo para que uno de cada diez se quedara a vivir en Jerusalén, la ciudad santa, y los otros nueve se establecieran en las otras poblaciones. 2 El pueblo bendijo a todos los que se ofrecieron voluntariamente a vivir en Jerusalén.
3 Estos son los jefes de la provincia que se establecieron en Jerusalén y en las otras poblaciones de Judá. Los israelitas, los sacerdotes, los levitas, los servidores del Templo y los descendientes de los servidores de Salomón se establecieron, cada uno en su propia población y en su respectiva propiedad. 4 Estos fueron los judíos y benjamitas que se establecieron en Jerusalén:
De los descendientes de Judá:
Ataías, hijo de Uzías, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Amarías, hijo de Sefatías, hijo de Malalel, de los descendientes de Fares;
5 y Maseías, hijo de Baruc, hijo de Coljozé, hijo de Jazaías, hijo de Adaías, hijo de Joyarib, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Siloní.
6 El total de los descendientes de Fares que se establecieron en Jerusalén fue de cuatrocientos sesenta y ocho hombres capaces.
7 De los descendientes de Benjamín:
Salú, hijo de Mesulán, hijo de Joed, hijo de Pedaías, hijo de Colaías, hijo de Maseías, hijo de Itiel, hijo de Isaías, 8 y sus hermanos[a] Gabay y Salay. En total eran novecientos veintiocho.
9 Su jefe era Joel, hijo de Zicrí, y el segundo jefe de la ciudad era Judá, hijo de Senuá.[b]
10 De los sacerdotes:
Jedaías, hijo de Joyarib, Jaquín,
11 Seraías, hijo de Jilquías, hijo de Mesulán, hijo de Sadoc, hijo de Merayot, hijo de Ajitob, que era el oficial a cargo del Templo de Dios, 12 y sus parientes, que eran ochocientos veintidós y trabajaban en el Templo;
así mismo, Adaías, hijo de Jeroán, hijo de Pelalías, hijo de Amsí, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Pasur, hijo de Malquías, 13 y sus parientes, los cuales eran jefes de familia y sumaban doscientos cuarenta y dos;
también Amasay, hijo de Azarel, hijo de Ajsay, hijo de Mesilemot, hijo de Imer, 14 y sus parientes, los cuales eran ciento veintiocho valientes.
Su jefe era Zabdiel, hijo de Guedolín.
15 De los levitas:
Semaías, hijo de Jasub, hijo de Azricán, hijo de Jasabías, hijo de Buní;
16 Sabetay y Jozabad, que eran jefes de los levitas y estaban encargados de la obra exterior del Templo de Dios;
17 Matanías, hijo de Micaías, hijo de Zabdí, hijo de Asaf, que dirigía el coro de los que entonaban las acciones de gracias en el momento de la oración;
Bacbuquías, segundo entre sus hermanos,
y Abdá, hijo de Samúa, hijo de Galal, hijo de Jedutún.
18 Los levitas que se establecieron en la ciudad santa fueron doscientos ochenta y cuatro.
19 De los porteros:
Acub, Talmón y sus parientes, que vigilaban las puertas. En total eran ciento setenta y dos.
20 Los demás israelitas, de los sacerdotes y de los levitas, vivían en todas las poblaciones de Judá, cada uno en su propiedad.
21 Los servidores del Templo, que estaban bajo la dirección de Zijá y Guispa, se establecieron en Ofel.
22 El jefe de los levitas que estaban en Jerusalén era Uzi, hijo de Baní, hijo de Jasabías, hijo de Matanías, hijo de Micaías, uno de los descendientes de Asaf. Estos tenían a su cargo el canto en el servicio del Templo de Dios. 23 Una orden real y un reglamento establecían los deberes diarios de los cantores.
24 Para atender a todos los asuntos del pueblo, el rey había nombrado como su representante a Petaías, hijo de Mesezabel, que era uno de los descendientes de Zera, hijo de Judá.
Otras ciudades habitadas
25 Algunos judíos se establecieron en las siguientes ciudades con sus poblaciones: Quiriat Arbá, Dibón, Yecabsel, 26 Jesúa, Moladá, Bet Pelet, 27 Jazar Súal, Berseba, 28 Siclag, Mecona, 29 Enrimón, Zora, Jarmut, 30 Zanoa, Adulán, Laquis y Azeca, es decir, desde Berseba hasta el valle de Hinón.
31 Los benjamitas se establecieron en Gueba, Micmás, Aías, Betel y sus poblaciones, 32 Anatot, Nob, Ananías, 33 Jazor, Ramá, Guitayin, 34 Jadid, Seboyín, Nebalat, 35 Lod y Ono, y en el valle de los Artesanos.
36 Algunos levitas de Judá se unieron a los benjamitas.

11 And the rulers of the people dwelt at Yerushalayim; the rest of the people also cast goralot, to bring one of ten to dwell in Yerushalayim Ir HaKodesh, and nine parts to dwell in other cities.
2 And the people blessed all the men, that willingly offered themselves to dwell at Yerushalayim.
3 Now these are the chiefs of the province that dwelt in Yerushalayim, but in the towns of Yehudah dwelt every one in his possession in their towns—Yisroel, the Kohanim, and the Levi’im, and the Netinim, and the Bnei Avdei Sh’lomo.
4 And at Yerushalayim dwelt certain of the Bnei Yehudah, and of the Bnei Binyamin. Of the Bnei Yehudah; Atayah ben Uziyah, ben Zecharyah, ben Amaryah, ben Shephatyah, ben Mahalal’el, of the children of Peretz;
5 And Ma’aseiyah ben Baruch, ben Colchozeh, ben Chazayah, ben Adayah, ben Yoyariv, ben Zecharyah, ben Shelah.
6 All the Bnei Peretz that dwelt at Yerushalayim were four hundred threescore and eight anshei chayil.
7 And these are the Bnei Binyamin: Sallu ben Meshullam, ben Yoed, ben Pedayah, ben Kolayah, ben Ma’aseiyah, ben Itiel, ben Yeshayah.
8 And after him Gabai, Sallai, 928.
9 And Yoel ben Zichri was their pakid (overseer), and Yehudah ben Hasnuah was second over the Ir.
10 Of the Kohanim; Yedayah ben Yoyariv, Yachin,
11 Serayah ben Chilkiyah ben Meshullam ben Tzadok ben Merayot ben Achituv the Nagid Bais HaElohim.
12 And their brethren that did the work of the Beis {HaMikdash] were eight hundred twenty and two; and Adayah ben Yerocham, ben Pelalyah, ben Amtzi, ben Zecharyah, ben Pashchur, ben Malkiyah.
13 And his brethren, chief of the avot, two hundred forty and two; and Amashsai ben Azare’el ben Achzai ben Meshillemot ben Immer,
14 And their brethren, gibborei chayil, one hundred twenty and eight; and their overseer was Zavdiel ben HaGedolim.
15 Also of the Levi’im; Shemayah ben Chashuv ben Azrikam ben Chashavyah ben Bunni;
16 And Shabtai and Yozavad, of the chief of the Levi’im, had the oversight of the outside work of the Beis HaElohim.
17 And Matanyah ben Micha ben Zavdi ben Asaph was the Rosh leading techillah in tefillah, and Bakbukyah the second among his brethren, and Avda ben Shammua ben Galal ben Yedutun.
18 All the Levi’im in the Ir HaKodesh were two hundred fourscore and four.
19 Moreover the gatekeepers, Akuv, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were one hundred seventy and two.
20 And the rest of Yisroel, of the Kohanim, and the Levi’im, were in all the cities of Yehudah, every one in his nachalah.
21 But the Netinim dwelt in Ophel, and Tzicha and Gishpa were over the Netinim.
22 The overseer also of the Levi’im at Yerushalayim was Uzzi ben Bani, ben Chashavyah ben Matanyah ben Micha. Of the Bnei Asaph, the singers were responsible for the Beis HaElohim.
23 For it was the king’s commandment concerning them, that a regulation be for the singers, over their daily actities.
24 And Petachyah ben Mesheizav’el, of the Bnei Zerach ben Yehudah, was the king’s deputy in all matters concerning the people.
25 And for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Yehudah dwelt at Kiryat-Arba, and in the villages thereof, and at Divon, and in the villages thereof, and at Yekabze’el, and in the villages thereof,
26 And at Yeshua, and at Moladah, and at Beit-Pelet,
27 And at Chatzar Shual, and at Beer Sheva, and in the villages thereof,
28 And at Tziklag, and at Mechonah, and in the villages thereof,
29 And at En-Rimmon, and at Tzorah, and at Yarmut,
30 Zanoach, Adulam, and in their villages, at Lachish, and the fields thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof. And they dwelt from BeerSheva unto the valley of Gehinnom.
31 The children also of Binyamin from Geva dwelt at Michmas, and Ayah, and Beit-El, and in their villages.
32 And at Anatot, Nov, Ananyah,
33 Chatzor, Ramah, Gittayim,
34 Chadid, Tzvo’im, Nevalat,
35 Lud, and Ono, the Gey-HaCharashim.
36 And of the Levi’im were divisions in Yehudah and in Binyamin.

The New Residents of Jerusalem(A)
11 Now the leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem. The rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten of them to live in Jerusalem,(B) the holy city,(C) while the remaining nine were to stay in their own towns.(D) 2 The people commended all who volunteered to live in Jerusalem.
3 These are the provincial leaders who settled in Jerusalem (now some Israelites, priests, Levites, temple servants and descendants of Solomon’s servants lived in the towns of Judah, each on their own property in the various towns,(E) 4 while other people from both Judah and Benjamin(F) lived in Jerusalem):(G)
From the descendants of Judah:
Athaiah son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, a descendant of Perez; 5 and Maaseiah son of Baruch, the son of Kol-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, a descendant of Shelah. 6 The descendants of Perez who lived in Jerusalem totaled 468 men of standing.
7 From the descendants of Benjamin:
Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah, 8 and his followers, Gabbai and Sallai—928 men. 9 Joel son of Zikri was their chief officer, and Judah son of Hassenuah was over the New Quarter of the city.
10 From the priests:
Jedaiah; the son of Joiarib; Jakin; 11 Seraiah(H) son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub,(I) the official in charge of the house of God, 12 and their associates, who carried on work for the temple—822 men; Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malkijah, 13 and his associates, who were heads of families—242 men; Amashsai son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer, 14 and his[a] associates, who were men of standing—128. Their chief officer was Zabdiel son of Haggedolim.
15 From the Levites:
Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni; 16 Shabbethai(J) and Jozabad,(K) two of the heads of the Levites, who had charge of the outside work of the house of God; 17 Mattaniah(L) son of Mika, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph,(M) the director who led in thanksgiving and prayer; Bakbukiah, second among his associates; and Abda son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.(N) 18 The Levites in the holy city(O) totaled 284.
19 The gatekeepers:
Akkub, Talmon and their associates, who kept watch at the gates—172 men.
20 The rest of the Israelites, with the priests and Levites, were in all the towns of Judah, each on their ancestral property.
21 The temple servants(P) lived on the hill of Ophel, and Ziha and Gishpa were in charge of them.
22 The chief officer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah,(Q) the son of Mika. Uzzi was one of Asaph’s descendants, who were the musicians responsible for the service of the house of God. 23 The musicians(R) were under the king’s orders, which regulated their daily activity.
24 Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, one of the descendants of Zerah(S) son of Judah, was the king’s agent in all affairs relating to the people.
25 As for the villages with their fields, some of the people of Judah lived in Kiriath Arba(T) and its surrounding settlements, in Dibon(U) and its settlements, in Jekabzeel and its villages, 26 in Jeshua, in Moladah,(V) in Beth Pelet,(W) 27 in Hazar Shual,(X) in Beersheba(Y) and its settlements, 28 in Ziklag,(Z) in Mekonah and its settlements, 29 in En Rimmon, in Zorah,(AA) in Jarmuth,(AB) 30 Zanoah,(AC) Adullam(AD) and their villages, in Lachish(AE) and its fields, and in Azekah(AF) and its settlements. So they were living all the way from Beersheba(AG) to the Valley of Hinnom.
31 The descendants of the Benjamites from Geba(AH) lived in Mikmash,(AI) Aija, Bethel(AJ) and its settlements, 32 in Anathoth,(AK) Nob(AL) and Ananiah, 33 in Hazor,(AM) Ramah(AN) and Gittaim,(AO) 34 in Hadid, Zeboim(AP) and Neballat, 35 in Lod and Ono,(AQ) and in Ge Harashim.
36 Some of the divisions of the Levites of Judah settled in Benjamin.
