¹³ On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and the Levites, gathered around Ezra the teacher to give attention to the words of the Law.

²⁴ And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.^{(A) 25} Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,^(B)

⁴² As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue,^(A) the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath.

4 The priests and the captain of the temple guard^(A) and the Sadducees^(B) came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people.

³² They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us^(A) while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures^(B) to us?”

⁴⁷ Every day he was teaching at the temple.^(A) But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.^{(B) 48} Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
