⁵ In the same way Sanballat for the fifth time sent his servant to me with an open letter in his hand.

¹⁰ and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.^(A)

¹¹ put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,

¹³ For such boasters are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.^{(A) 14} And no wonder! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. ¹⁵ So it is not strange if his ministers also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness. Their end will match their deeds.^(B)

¹¹ And we do this so that we may not be outwitted by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his designs.

²⁶ Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, Shebnah, and Joah said to the Rabshakeh, “Please speak to your servants in the Aramaic language, for we understand it; do not speak to us in the language of Judah within the hearing of the people who are on the wall.”^{(A) 27} But the Rabshakeh said to them, “Has my master sent me to speak these words to your master and to you and not to the people sitting on the wall, who are doomed with you to eat their own dung and to drink their own urine?”
