³¹ So I brought the leaders of Judah up on the wall, and appointed two large thanksgiving choirs. ^(A)One went to the right hand on the wall ^(B)toward the Refuse Gate.

¹³ And I went out by night ^(A)through the Valley Gate to the Serpent Well and the ^[a]Refuse Gate, and ^[b]viewed the walls of Jerusalem which were ^(B)broken down and its gates which were burned with fire.

^38 (A)The other thanksgiving choir went the opposite way, and I was behind them with half of the people on the wall, going past the ^(B)Tower of the Ovens as far as ^(C)the Broad Wall,

⁴⁰ So the two thanksgiving choirs stood in the house of God, likewise I and the half of the rulers with me;

¹³ Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired ^(A)the Valley Gate. They built it, hung its doors with its bolts and bars, and repaired a thousand cubits of the wall as far as ^(B)the Refuse Gate.

¹⁴ Malchijah the son of Rechab, leader of the district of ^(C)Beth Haccerem, repaired the Refuse Gate; he built it and hung its doors with its bolts and bars.

The Ark Brought into the Temple^(A)

^2 (B)Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, in Jerusalem, that they might bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord up ^(C)from the City of David, which is Zion.

Solomon Instructed to Build the Temple

28 Now David assembled at Jerusalem all ^(A)the leaders of Israel: the officers of the tribes and ^(B)the captains of the divisions who served the king, the captains over thousands and captains over hundreds, and ^(C)the stewards over all the substance and ^[a]possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officials, the valiant men, and all ^(D)the mighty men of valor.
