³⁰ Then the priests and Levites ^(A)purified themselves, and purified the people, the gates, and the wall.

⁵ So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and ^[a]sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning ^(A)and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and ^(B)cursed^[b] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.

²¹ Then the children of Israel who had returned from the captivity ate together with all who had separated themselves from the ^(A)filth^[a] of the nations of the land in order to seek the Lord God of Israel.

⁵ and said to them: “Hear me, Levites! Now ^[a]sanctify yourselves, ^(A)sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the holy place.

¹⁰ Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and ^(A)consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.

³ Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for ^(A)himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.

Qualifications for High Priesthood

5 For every high priest taken from among men ^(A)is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

^30 (A)Thus I cleansed them of everything pagan. I also ^(B)assigned duties to the priests and the Levites, each to his service,

²² And I commanded the Levites that ^(A)they should cleanse themselves, and that they should go and guard the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day.

Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of Your mercy!

³⁴ But the priests were too few, so that they could not skin all the burnt offerings; therefore ^(A)their brethren the Levites helped them until the work was ended and until the other priests had ^[a]sanctified themselves, ^(B)for the Levites were ^(C)more diligent in ^(D)sanctifying themselves than the priests.
