¹⁰ Jeshua begot Joiakim, Joiakim begot Eliashib, Eliashib begot Joiada,

²⁸ And one of the sons ^(A)of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was a son-in-law of ^(B)Sanballat the Horonite; therefore I drove him from me.

⁷ and I came to Jerusalem and discovered the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in ^(A)preparing a room for him in the courts of the ^[a]house of God.

The Reforms of Nehemiah

⁴ Now before this, ^(A)Eliashib the priest, having authority over the storerooms of the house of our God, was allied with ^(B)Tobiah.

²⁶ These lived in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of ^[a]Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah ^(A)the governor, and of Ezra the priest, ^(B)the scribe.

Rebuilding the Wall

3 Then ^(A)Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests ^(B)and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors. They built ^(C)as far as the Tower of ^[a]the Hundred, and consecrated it, then as far as the Tower of ^(D)Hananel.

³ The children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron were ^(A)Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. ⁴ Eleazar begot Phinehas, and Phinehas begot Abishua; ⁵ Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi; ⁶ Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth; ⁷ Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub; ^8 (B)Ahitub begot ^(C)Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz; ⁹ Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan; ¹⁰ Johanan begot Azariah (it was he ^(D)who ministered as priest in the ^(E)temple^[a] that Solomon built in Jerusalem); ^11 (F)Azariah begot ^(G)Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub; ¹² Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot ^[b]Shallum; ¹³ Shallum begot Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begot Azariah; ¹⁴ Azariah begot ^(H)Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak. ¹⁵ Jehozadak went into captivity ^(I)when the Lord carried Judah and Jerusalem into captivity by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
