^16 (A)Shabbethai and ^(B)Jozabad, of the heads of the Levites, had the oversight of ^(C)the business outside of the ^[a]house of God;

² Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, ^(A)“It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. ³ Therefore, brethren, ^(B)seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this ^(C)business;

⁷ Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, ^(A)helped the people to understand the Law; and the people ^(B)stood in their place.

³³ Now on the fourth day the silver and the gold and the articles were ^(A)weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest, and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; with them were the Levites, ^(B)Jozabad the son of Jeshua and Noadiah the son of Binnui,

The Treasuries and Other Duties

²⁰ Of the Levites, Ahijah was ^(A)over the treasuries of the house of God and over the treasuries of the ^(B)dedicated^[a] things.
