² So the Twelve gathered all the disciples^(A) together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God^(B) in order to wait on tables. ³ Brothers and sisters,^(C) choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit^(D) and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them^(E)

⁷ The Levites^(A)—Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan and Pelaiah—instructed^(B) the people in the Law while the people were standing there.

³³ On the fourth day, in the house of our God, we weighed out^(A) the silver and gold and the sacred articles into the hands of Meremoth^(B) son of Uriah, the priest. Eleazar son of Phinehas was with him, and so were the Levites Jozabad^(C) son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.^(D)

The Treasurers and Other Officials

²⁰ Their fellow Levites^(A) were^[a] in charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries for the dedicated things.^(B)
