³⁷ I will surely gather^(A) them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger^(B) and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety.^(C)

² and when you and your children return^(A) to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart^(B) and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, ³ then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes^[a](C) and have compassion^(D) on you and gather^(E) you again from all the nations where he scattered^(F) you.^{(G) 4} Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens,^(H) from there the Lord your God will gather^(I) you and bring you back.^{(J) 5} He will bring^(K) you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will take possession of it. He will make you more prosperous and numerous^(L) than your ancestors.

²⁹ But if from there you seek^(A) the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart^(B) and with all your soul.^{(C) 30} When you are in distress^(D) and all these things have happened to you, then in later days^(E) you will return^(F) to the Lord your God and obey him. ³¹ For the Lord your God is a merciful^(G) God; he will not abandon^(H) or destroy^(I) you or forget^(J) the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath.

³⁹ Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their ancestors’^(A) sins they will waste away.^(B)

⁴⁰ “‘But if they will confess^(C) their sins^(D) and the sins of their ancestors^(E)—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me, ⁴¹ which made me hostile^(F) toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts^(G) are humbled^(H) and they pay^(I) for their sin, ⁴² I will remember my covenant with Jacob^(J) and my covenant with Isaac^(K) and my covenant with Abraham,^(L) and I will remember the land.

³¹ And he will send his angels^(A) with a loud trumpet call,^(B) and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

¹⁵ But after I uproot them, I will again have compassion^(A) and will bring^(B) each of them back to their own inheritance and their own country.
