And thou hast also appointed nevi’im to make this proclamation about thee at Yerushalayim, saying, There is a Melech in Yehudah! Now this report will get back to HaMelech. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.

Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such devarim (things) done as thou sayest, but thou inventest them out of thine own lev.

For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, Their hands shall get too weakened for the melachah, that it be not completed. Now therefore, strengthen my hands!

You have also [a]set up prophets to call out in Jerusalem concerning [b]you, ‘A king is in Judah!’ So now it will be heard by the king according to these words. So now, come, let us take counsel together.”

Then I sent a message to him, saying,

“Such words as you are saying have not been done, but you are (A)devising them in your own heart.”

For all of them were trying to frighten us, [c]thinking, “Their hands will [d]become limp in doing the work, and it will not be done.” But now, (B)O God, strengthen my hands.
