2 Nimicitorul(A) porneşte împotriva ta, Ninive; păzeşte(B) cetăţuia! Ia seama la drum! Întăreşte-ţi coapsele! Adună-ţi toată puterea!… 2 Căci(C) Domnul aşază iarăşi slava lui Iacov şi o face iarăşi ca slava de odinioară a lui Israel, pentru că i-au jefuit(D) jefuitorii şi le-au stricat butucii de vie… 3 Scuturile vitejilor săi(E) sunt roşii, războinicii sunt îmbrăcaţi cu purpură; fulgeră carele de focul oţelului în ziua sorocită pregătirii de luptă şi suliţele se învârtesc.

2 For the Lord hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
