⁵ He remembers his nobles;
They stumble in their walk;
They make haste to her walls,
And the defense is prepared.

^18 (A)Your shepherds slumber, O ^(B)king of Assyria;
Your nobles rest in the dust.
Your people are ^(C)scattered on the mountains,
And no one gathers them.

^27 (A)Set up a banner in the land,
Blow the trumpet among the nations!
^(B)Prepare the nations against her,
Call ^(C)the kingdoms together against her:
Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz.
Appoint a general against her;
Cause the horses to come up like the bristling locusts.
²⁸ Prepare against her the nations,
With the kings of the Medes,
Its governors and all its rulers,
All the land of his dominion.

²⁹ “Call together the archers against Babylon.
All you who bend the bow, encamp against it all around;
Let none of them ^[a]escape.
^(A)Repay her according to her work;
According to all she has done, do to her;
^(B)For she has been proud against the Lord,
Against the Holy One of Israel.
