Nahum 1:3-8

³^(A)The Lord is slow to anger and ^(B)great in power,
    and ^(C)the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.
^(D)His way is in whirlwind and storm,
    and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
⁴^(E)He rebukes the sea and makes it dry;
    he dries up all the rivers;
^(F)Bashan and ^(G)Carmel wither;
    the bloom of ^(H)Lebanon withers.
⁵^(I)The mountains quake before him;
    ^(J)the hills melt;
the earth heaves before him,
    ^(K)the world and all who dwell in it.

⁶^(L)Who can stand before his indignation?
    Who can endure the heat of his anger?
His wrath ^(M)is poured out like fire,
    and ^(N)the rocks are broken into pieces by him.
⁷^(O)The Lord is good,
    ^(P)a stronghold in the day of trouble;
^(Q)he knows those who take refuge in him.
⁸    But ^(R)with an overflowing flood
he will make a complete end of the adversaries,^[a]
    and ^(S)will pursue his enemies into darkness.
