Nahum 2:5-7
English Standard Version
5 He remembers (A)his officers;
(B)they stumble as they go,
they hasten to the wall;
the siege tower[a] is set up.
6 (C)The river gates are opened;
the palace (D)melts away;
7 its mistress[b] is (E)stripped;[c] she is carried off,
her slave girls (F)lamenting,
moaning like doves
and beating their breasts.

New International Version
5 Nineveh summons her picked troops,
yet they stumble(A) on their way.
They dash to the city wall;
the protective shield is put in place.
6 The river gates(B) are thrown open
and the palace collapses.
7 It is decreed[a] that Nineveh
be exiled and carried away.
Her female slaves moan(C) like doves
and beat on their breasts.(D)
