Nahum 1:5-10

⁵^(A)The mountains quake before him;
^(B)the hills melt;
the earth heaves before him,
^(C)the world and all who dwell in it.

⁶^(D)Who can stand before his indignation?
    Who can endure the heat of his anger?
His wrath ^(E)is poured out like fire,
    and ^(F)the rocks are broken into pieces by him.
⁷^(G)The Lord is good,
    ^(H)a stronghold in the day of trouble;
^(I)he knows those who take refuge in him.
⁸    But ^(J)with an overflowing flood
he will make a complete end of the adversaries,^[a]
    and ^(K)will pursue his enemies into darkness.
⁹What ^(L)do you plot against the Lord?
    ^(M)He will make a complete end;
    trouble will not rise up a second time.
¹⁰For they are ^(N)like entangled thorns,
    like drunkards as they drink;
    ^(O)they are consumed like stubble fully dried.
