La ira de Dios contra Nínive
1 Profecía [a](A) sobre Nínive(B). Libro de la visión de Nahúm de Elcos.
2 Dios celoso y vengador es el Señor(C);
vengador es el Señor e irascible[b].
El Señor se venga de sus adversarios(D),
y guarda rencor a sus enemigos.
3 El Señor es lento para la ira y grande en poder(E),
y ciertamente el Señor no dejará impune al culpable.
En el torbellino y la tempestad está su camino(F),
y las nubes son el polvo de sus pies(G).
4 El reprende al mar y lo hace secar,
y todos los ríos agota(H).
Languidecen Basán y el Carmelo,
y las flores del Líbano se marchitan(I).
5 Los montes tiemblan ante Él(J),
y los collados se derriten(K);
sí, en su presencia se levanta la tierra(L),
el mundo y todos los que en él habitan(M).
6 En presencia de su indignación, ¿quién resistirá(N)?
¿Quién se mantendrá en pie ante el ardor de su ira(O)?
Su furor se derrama como fuego(P),
y las rocas se despedazan ante Él(Q).
7 Bueno es el Señor,
una fortaleza en el día de la angustia(R),
y conoce a los que en Él se refugian(S).
8 Pero con inundación desbordante(T)
pondrá fin a Nínive[c],
y perseguirá a sus enemigos aun en las tinieblas(U).
9 Lo que traméis contra el Señor(V),
Él lo hará completa destrucción(W);
no surgirá dos veces la angustia.
10 Porque ellos como espinos enmarañados(X),
y ebrios con su bebida(Y),
serán consumidos como paja totalmente seca(Z).
11 De ti ha salido
el que ha tramado el mal contra el Señor(AA),
un consejero perverso[d](AB).
12 Así dice el Señor:
Aunque estén con todo su vigor y por más que sean muchos,
aun así serán cortados y desaparecerán(AC).
Aunque te haya afligido,
no te afligiré más(AD).
13 Y ahora, quebraré su yugo de sobre ti,
y romperé tus coyundas(AE).
14 El Señor ha dado una orden en cuanto a ti[e]:
No se perpetuará[f] más tu nombre(AF).
De la casa de tus dioses
arrancaré los ídolos[g] y las imágenes(AG) de fundición.
Yo prepararé tu sepultura(AH), porque eres vil.
15 [h]He aquí sobre los montes
los pies del que trae buenas nuevas(AI),
del que anuncia la paz.
Celebra tus fiestas(AJ), Judá,
cumple tus votos.
Porque nunca más volverá
a pasar por ti el malvado[i](AK);
ha sido exterminado por completo(AL).

1 ¶ The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
2 ¶ God is jealous, and the LORD avenges; the LORD avenges and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserves wrath for his enemies.
3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power and will not at all treat the guilty as though they were innocent; the LORD whose way is in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He reprehends the sea and makes it dry and dries up all the rivers; Bashan was destroyed, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon was destroyed.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, and the world and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those that trust in him.
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of his place, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
9 ¶ What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end; he will not hold back the tribulation the second time.
10 For while they are entwined together as thorns, and while the drunkards shall be drinking, they shall be devoured as stubble full of dryness.
11 He has come out of thee that has imagined evil against the LORD, a counsellor of Belial.
12 Thus hath the LORD said: For much rest that they have, and though they are many, yet thus shall they be cut down, and he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
13 For now I will break his yoke from off thee and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
14 And the LORD shall give a commandment concerning thee that no one else of thy name ever be sown; out of the house of thy god I will cut off the graven image and the molten image; I will make it thy grave because thou wert vile.
15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that brings good tidings, of him that publishes peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows; for Belial shall no longer pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

2 ¶ Seyè a, se yon Bondye ki fè jalouzi epi ki konn tire revanj. Li tire revanj li. Lè l' ankòlè, se pa ti move li move. Li tire revanj li sou tout moun ki kenbe tèt avè l'. Li kenbe moun ki pa vle wè l' yo nan kè.
3 Seyè a pa fache fasil, men se pa ti kras pouvwa li genyen. Li p'ap janm manke pa pini moun ki antò. Kote Seyè a pase, se van tanpèt, se van siklòn. Nwaj yo, se pousyè pye l' yo ap leve.
4 Li pase lanmè a lòd: lanmè a cheche. Li cheche dlo larivyè yo. Tout pyebwa nan plenn Bazan ak sou mòn Kamèl ap deperi. Tout flè sou mòn Liban yo ap fennen.
5 Gwo mòn yo tranble lè yo wè l'. Ti mòn yo disparèt. Tè a tranble devan l' ansanm ak tout moun ki rete sou li.
6 Ki moun ki ka kanpe devan l' lè li ankòlè? Ki moun ki ka chape anba men l' lè li move? Kòlè Bondye tonbe sou latè tankou dife. Gwo wòch yo tounen pousyè devan li.
7 Men, Seyè a gen bon kè tou: Jou malè, se li ki pwoteje pèp li. Li pran swen tout moun ki vin kache anba zèl li.
8 Tankou yon gwo lavalas k'ap desann, l'ap kraze tout kote lavil la te bati a. L'ap pousib tout lènmi l' yo jouk li fini ak yo.
9 ¶ Kisa n'ap konplote konsa sou do Seyè a? L'ap detwi nou tout. Nou p'ap ka kenbe tèt avè l' yon lòt fwa ankò.
10 Yo tankou yon gwo raje pikan. Atout yo vèt la, yo pral boule nèt tankou yon pil zèb chèch.
11 Yon nonm soti lavil Niniv. Li gen yon bann move lide nan tèt li, l'ap fè konplo sou do Seyè a.
12 Men sa Seyè a di pèp li a: -Moun peyi Lasiri yo te mèt anpil, yo te mèt gwonèg, y'ap mouri, y'ap disparèt. Mwen te fè nou soufri. Men, mwen p'ap fè nou sa ankò!
13 Koulye a, mwen pral kraze pouvwa peyi Lasiri k'ap peze nou an. M'ap kase tout chenn yo te pran pou mare nou yo.
14 Men lòd Seyè a bay sou moun peyi Lasiri yo: -Yo pral bliye non nou nèt. Mwen pral detwi tout ras nou. M'ap kraze tout estati zidòl nou gen nan tanp bondye nou yo, kit yo te an bwa, kit yo te an fè. M'ap pare yon tonm pou nou. Nou pa vo anyen ankò!
15 Gade! Men yon mesaje k'ap vin sou mòn yo! L'ap pote bon nouvèl k'ap ban nou kè poze. Nou menm moun peyi Jida, nou mèt fete tout fèt nou yo! Fè ofrann nou te pwomèt Bondye yo. Mechan yo p'ap pase lakay nou ankò! Mwen detwi yo nèt.
