A Man with a Withered Hand

⁹He went on from there and ^(A)entered their synagogue. ¹⁰And a man was there with a withered hand. And they asked him, ^(B)“Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—^(C)so that they might accuse him. ¹¹He said to them, “Which one of you who has a sheep, ^(D)if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? ¹²^(E)Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So ^(F)it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” ¹³Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And ^(G)the man stretched it out, and it was restored, healthy like the other.

⁹Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, ¹⁰and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus,^(A) they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”^(B)

¹¹He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?^(C) ¹²How much more valuable is a person than a sheep!^(D) Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

¹³Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.
