Take Up Your Cross

³⁴ Summoning the crowd along with His disciples, He said to them, “If anyone wants to be My follower, he must deny himself,^(A) take up his cross,^(B) and follow Me.^(C)

²¹ “Lord,” another of His disciples said, “first let me go bury my father.”^[a]

⁶¹ Another also said, “I will follow You, Lord, but first let me go and say good-bye to those at my house.”^(A)
