1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.^[a]

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers,

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit, so that from Jerusalem and as far round as Illyr′icum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ,

¹² If others share this rightful claim upon you, do not we still more?

Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.

Paul’s Anxiety in Troas

¹² When I came to Tro′as to preach the gospel of Christ, a door was opened for me in the Lord;

⁴ In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God.

¹³ Under the test of this service, you^[a] will glorify God by your obedience in acknowledging the gospel of Christ, and by the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others;

¹⁴ For we are not overextending ourselves, as though we did not reach you; we were the first to come all the way to you with the gospel of Christ.

⁷ not that there is another gospel, but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

²⁷ Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,
