Gods woorden over de leiders van het land
2 Het zal slecht aflopen met de mensen die aldoor slechte dingen bedenken. Die 's nachts in bed misdadige plannen smeden en in de vroege ochtend gaan doen wat ze 's nachts hebben bedacht. Ze kunnen doen wat ze willen. 2 Als ze een akker willen hebben, dan roven ze die. Als ze huizen willen hebben, dan nemen ze die. Zo bedriegen ze de mensen en nemen hun huizen en grond in bezit. 3 Daarom, zegt de Heer, zal Ik hen straffen. Ze zullen op geen enkele manier aan hun straf kunnen ontkomen. Ze zullen gebukt lopen van ellende, want het zal een zware tijd zijn. 4 In die tijd zal er over hen een treurlied gezongen worden:
'Het is afgelopen met ons. We zijn vernietigd.
De Heer geeft het land van zijn volk aan vreemden.
Hij neemt het ons af!
Hij deelt onze akkers uit aan vreemden.'
5 Niemand zal nog door loting een nieuw stuk land krijgen in de vergadering van de Heer.

6 Houd toch op met profeteren! Profeteer maar niet. Jullie zullen alleen maar voor schut komen te staan. 7 Jullie die het volk van Israël heten, luister! Zou de Geest van de Heer boos zijn? Kijk wat Hij doet, dan weet je het! De Heer is toch altijd goed voor mensen die leven zoals Hij het wil?
8 Maar sinds enige tijd gedraagt mijn volk zich als een vijand tegen Mij. Want jullie beroven onschuldige voorbijgangers, als mannen die terugkomen van de strijd! 9 Jullie jagen vrouwen hun huis uit, het huis waar ze zo gelukkig waren. Jullie nemen hun kinderen mijn zegen af. 10 Sta nu op en vertrek hier. Jullie zullen hier niet rustig blijven wonen. Want het land is bedorven door wat jullie hebben gedaan. Het is totaal bedorven door de verschrikkelijke dingen die jullie doen.
11 Als er iemand komt die leugens voor jullie profeteert, over wijn en sterke drank, dán mag hij jullie profeet zijn!
God belooft dat Hij ook weer goed voor zijn volk zal zijn
12 De Heer zegt: "Het is zeker dat Ik jou, volk van Israël, weer bij elkaar zal brengen. Alle mensen die zijn overgebleven, zal Ik verzamelen als schapen in een stal, als een kudde vee in een weiland. Het land zal vol mensen zijn. 13 De Heer baant voor hen de weg en gaat voorop. Ze zullen doorbreken en door de poort trekken. Hun Koning zal hen aanvoeren, de Heer zal voorop gaan."

2 Vai de cei ce cugetă(A) nelegiuirea şi făuresc(B) rele în aşternutul lor; când se crapă de ziuă o înfăptuiesc, dacă(C) le stă în putere. 2 Dacă poftesc(D) ogoare, pun mâna pe ele, dacă doresc case, le răpesc; asupresc pe om şi casa lui, pe om şi moştenirea lui. 3 De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Iată, Eu am de gând să aduc o nenorocire împotriva acestui leat de oameni(E), de care nu vă veţi feri grumajii şi nu veţi mai umbla cu capul atât de sus, căci vremurile(F) vor fi rele. 4 În ziua aceea, veţi ajunge de pomină(G), veţi boci(H) şi veţi zice: ‘S-a isprăvit! Suntem pustiiţi cu desăvârşire! Partea de moştenire a poporului meu trece(I) în mâna altuia! Vai, cum mi-o ia! Ogoarele noastre le împarte vrăjmaşului…!’ 5 De aceea nu vei avea pe nimeni care să întindă(J) frânghia de măsurat pentru sorţul tău, în adunarea Domnului.” 6 „Nu(K) prorociţi!” zic ei. „Să nu se prorocească asemenea lucruri. Căci altminteri ocările nu mai încetează!” 7 „Este Domnul atât de grabnic la mânie, casa lui Iacov? Acesta este felul Lui de a lucra?” „Da, cuvintele Mele sunt prielnice celui ce umblă cu neprihănire! 8 De multă vreme poporul Meu este socotit de Mine ca vrăjmaş; voi răpiţi mantaua de pe hainele celor ce trec liniştiţi şi n-au gust de război. 9 Voi izgoniţi din casele lor iubite pe femeile poporului Meu, luaţi pentru totdeauna podoaba Mea de la copiii lor. 10 Sculaţi-vă şi plecaţi, căci aici nu este odihnă(L) pentru voi, căci, din pricina spurcăciunii(M), vor fi dureri, dureri puternice. 11 Da, dacă ar veni un om cu vânt(N) şi minciuni şi ar zice: ‘Îţi voi proroci despre vin şi despre băuturi tari!’ acela ar fi un proroc pentru poporul acesta! – 12 Te voi strânge(O) în întregime, Iacove! Voi strânge rămăşiţa lui Israel, îi voi aduna ca pe nişte oi dintr-un staul(P), ca pe o turmă în păşunea ei, aşa că va fi o mare zarvă(Q) de oameni. 13 Cel ce va face spărtura se va sui înaintea lor; vor face spărtura, vor trece pe poartă şi vor ieşi pe ea; împăratul lor(R) va merge înaintea lor şi Domnul(S) va fi în fruntea lor.”

2 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
3 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
4 In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
5 Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the Lord.
6 Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lord straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.
