Israel Will Rise

Do not gloat over me,(A) my enemy!
    Though I have fallen, I will rise.(B)
Though I sit in darkness,
    the Lord will be my light.(C)
Because I have sinned against him,
    I will bear the Lord’s wrath,(D)
until he pleads my case(E)
    and upholds my cause.
He will bring me out into the light;(F)
    I will see his righteousness.(G)
10 Then my enemy will see it
    and will be covered with shame,(H)
she who said to me,
    “Where is the Lord your God?”(I)
My eyes will see her downfall;(J)
    even now she will be trampled(K) underfoot
    like mire in the streets.

Israel’s Confession and Comfort

(A)Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
(B)When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.
(C)I will bear the indignation of the Lord,
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my (D)case
And executes justice for me.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.
10 Then she who is my enemy will see,
And (E)shame will cover her who said to me,
(F)“Where is the Lord your God?”
My eyes will see her;
Now she will be trampled down
Like mud in the streets.

(A) Gläd dig inte över mig,
        du min fiende.
    Har jag fallit
        ska jag resa mig igen,
    sitter jag i mörkret
        är Herren mitt ljus.
(B) Eftersom jag syndat mot Herren
        ska jag bära hans vrede
    tills han tar sig an min sak
        och skaffar mig rätt.
    Han ska föra mig ut i ljuset,
        och jag ska se hans rättfärdighet.
10 (C) Min fiende ska se det
        och täckas av skam,
    hon[a] som sade till mig:
        ”Var är nu Herren din Gud?”
    Mina ögon ska se på henne,
        hur hon trampas ner
            som smuts på gatan.
