⁷ But as for me, I will look to the Lord;
    ^(A)I will wait for the God of my salvation;
    my God will hear me.

31 Woe^[a] to ^(A)those who go down to Egypt for help
    and rely on horses,
who ^(B)trust in chariots because they are many
    and in horsemen because they are very strong,
but ^(C)do not look to the Holy One of Israel
    or consult the Lord!

^13 (A)But it is you, a man, my equal,
    my companion, my familiar friend.
¹⁴ We used to take sweet counsel together;
    within God's house we walked in ^(B)the throng.
¹⁵ Let death steal over them;
    let them go down to Sheol ^(C)alive;
    for evil is in their dwelling place and in their heart.
