Micah 4:7-9

Good News Translation

⁷They are crippled and far from home, but I will make a new beginning with those who are left, and they will become a great nation. I will rule over them on Mount Zion from that time on and forever.”

⁸And you, Jerusalem, where God, like a shepherd from his lookout tower, watches over his people, will once again be the capital of the kingdom that was yours. ⁹Why do you cry out so loudly? Why are you suffering like a woman in labor? Is it because you have no king, and your counselors are dead?

New International Version

⁷I will make the lame my remnant,^(A)
    those driven away a strong nation.^(B)
The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion^(C)
    from that day and forever.^(D)
⁸As for you, watchtower of the flock,
    stronghold^[a] of Daughter Zion,
the former dominion will be restored^(E) to you;
    kingship will come to Daughter Jerusalem.^(F)”
