Micah 3:9-12
New International Version
9 Hear this, you leaders of Jacob,
you rulers of Israel,
who despise justice
and distort all that is right;(A)
10 who build(B) Zion with bloodshed,(C)
and Jerusalem with wickedness.(D)
11 Her leaders judge for a bribe,(E)
her priests teach for a price,(F)
and her prophets tell fortunes for money.(G)
Yet they look(H) for the Lord’s support and say,
“Is not the Lord among us?
No disaster will come upon us.”(I)
12 Therefore because of you,
Zion will be plowed like a field,
Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble,(J)
the temple(K) hill a mound overgrown with thickets.(L)
Jeremiah 26:17-19
New International Version
17 Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people, 18 “Micah(A) of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says:
“‘Zion(B) will be plowed like a field,
Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble,(C)
the temple hill(D) a mound overgrown with thickets.’[a](E)
19 “Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah(F) fear the Lord and seek(G) his favor? And did not the Lord relent,(H) so that he did not bring the disaster(I) he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster(J) on ourselves!”
