Micah 2:3-5

3 Therefore thus says Yahweh,
“Behold, I am (A)devising against this (B)family an evil demise
From which you (C)cannot remove your necks;
And you will not walk (D)haughtily,
For it will be an (E)evil time.
4 On that day they will (F)take up against you a [a]taunt
And [b](G)utter a bitter wailing and say,
‘We are completely (H)devastated!
He exchanges the portion of my people;
How He removes it from me!
To the faithless one, He (I)apportions our fields.’
5 Therefore you will have no one [c](J)stretching a measuring line
For you by lot in the assembly of Yahweh.

3 “Therefore this is what the Lord says,
‘I’m crafting evil against this family,
from which you can’t escape.[a]
You won’t strut around arrogantly,
because the times are evil.’
4 “When this happens,[b] someone will compose a proverb about you, lamenting sorrowfully,
‘We are completely ruined!
He has given my people’s heritage to others.[c]
How he has removed it from me,
dividing up our fields!’
5 “This is why there will not be left even a single person
to settle boundary disputes[d] in the Lord’s community.
