New English Translation
Micah 5:4-5
New English Translation
4 He will assume his post[a] and shepherd the people[b] by the Lord’s strength,
by the sovereign authority of the Lord his God.[c]
They will live securely,[d] for at that time he will be honored[e]
even in the distant regions of[f] the earth.
5 He will give us peace.[g]
Should the Assyrians try to invade our land
and attempt to set foot in our fortresses,[h]
we will send[i] against them seven[j] shepherd-rulers,[k]
make that eight commanders.[l]
