4 At nang sila'y nangagsasalita pa sa bayan, ay nagsilapit sa kanila ang mga saserdote, at ang (A)puno sa templo, at ang mga Saduceo,
2 Palibhasa'y totoong nangabagabag sapagka't tinuruan nila (B)ang bayan, at ibinalita sa pangalan ni Jesus ang (C)pagkabuhay na maguli sa mga patay.
3 At sila'y kanilang sinunggaban at kanilang ibinilanggo hanggang sa kinabukasan: sapagka't noon nga'y gabi na.
4 Datapuwa't marami sa nangakarinig ng salita ay nagsisampalataya; at (D)ang bilang ng mga lalake ay umabot sa mga limang libo.
5 At nangyari nang kinabukasan, na nangagkatipon sa Jerusalem ang kanilang mga pinuno at mga matanda at mga eskriba;
6 At si Anas, na (E)dakilang saserdote, at (F)si Caifas, at si Juan, at si Alejandro, at ang lahat ng kalipian ng dakilang saserdote.
7 At nang kanilang mailagay na sila sa gitna nila, ay sila'y tinanong, Sa anong kapangyarihan, o sa anong pangalan ginawa ninyo ito?
8 Nang magkagayo'y si Pedro, na (G)puspos ng Espiritu Santo, ay nagsabi sa kanila, Kayong mga pinuno sa bayan, at matatanda,
9 Kung kami sa araw na ito'y sinisiyasat tungkol sa mabuting gawa na ginawa sa isang taong may-sakit, na kung sa anong paraan gumaling ito;
10 Talastasin ninyong lahat, at ng buong bayan ng Israel, (H)na sa pangalan ni Jesucristong taga Nazaret, na inyong ipinako sa krus, (I)na binuhay ng Dios na maguli sa mga patay, dahil sa kaniya ay nakatindig ang taong ito sa inyong harap na walang sakit.
11 Siya ang bato na itinakuwil (J)ninyong mga nagtayo ng bahay, na naging pangulo sa panulok.
12 At sa kanino mang iba ay walang kaligtasan: sapagka't walang ibang pangalan sa silong ng langit, na ibinigay sa mga tao, na sukat nating ikaligtas.
13 Nang makita nga nila ang katapangan ni Pedro at ni Juan, at (K)pagkatalastas na sila'y mga taong walang pinagaralan at mga (L)mangmang, ay nangagtaka sila; at nangapagkilala nila, na sila'y nangakasama ni Jesus.
14 At nang mangakita nila ang taong pinagaling (M)na nakatayong kasama nila, ay wala silang maitutol.
15 Datapuwa't nang sila'y mangautusan na nilang magsilabas sa pulong, ay nangagsangusapan,
16 Na nangagsasabi, (N)Anong gagawin natin sa mga taong ito? sapagka't tunay na ginawa sa pamamagitan nila (O)ang himalang hayag sa lahat ng nangananahan sa Jerusalem; at hindi natin maikakaila.
17 Gayon ma'y upang huwag nang lalong kumalat sa bayan, atin silang balaan, na buhat ngayo'y huwag na silang mangagsalita pa sa sinomang tao sa pangalang ito.
18 At sila'y tinawag nila, at binalaan (P)sila, na sa anomang paraan ay huwag silang magsipagsalita ni magsipagturo tungkol sa pangalan ni Jesus.
19 Datapuwa't si Pedro at si Juan ay (Q)nagsisagot at nagsipagsabi sa kanila, Kung katuwiran sa paningin ng Dios na makinig muna sa inyo kay sa Dios, inyong hatulan:
20 Sapagka't hindi mangyayaring di namin salitain ang mga bagay na aming nangakita at nangarinig.
21 At sila, nang mapagbalaan na nila, ay pinakawalan, palibhasa'y hindi nangakasumpong ng anomang bagay upang sila'y kanilang mangaparusahan, (R)dahil sa bayan; sapagka't niluluwalhati ng lahat ng mga tao ang Dios dahil sa bagay na (S)ginawa.
22 Sapagka't may mahigit nang apat na pung taong gulang ang tao, na ginawan nitong himala ng pagpapagaling.
23 At nang sila'y mangapakawalan na, ay nagsiparoon sa kanilang mga kasamahan, at iniulat ang lahat ng sa kanila'y sinabi ng mga pangulong saserdote at ng matatanda.
24 At sila, nang kanilang marinig ito, ay (T)nangagkaisang itaas nila ang kanilang tinig sa Dios, at nangagsabi, Oh Panginoon, ikaw na gumawa ng langit at ng lupa at ng dagat, at ng lahat ng nangasa mga yaon:
25 Na sa pamamagitan ng Espiritu Santo, sa pamamagitan ng bibig ng aming amang si David, na iyong lingkod, ay sinabi mo,
(U)Bakit nangagalit ang mga Gentil,
At nagsipaghaka ang mga tao ng mga bagay na walang kabuluhan?
26 Nagsitayong handa ang mga hari sa lupa,
At ang mga pinuno ay nangagpisanpisan,
Laban sa Panginoon, at laban sa kaniyang Pinahiran.
27 Sapagka't sa katotohanan sa bayang ito'y (V)laban sa iyong banal na Lingkod na si Jesus, (W)na siya mong pinahiran, ang dalawa ni (X)Herodes at ni (Y)Poncio Pilato, kasama (Z)ng mga Gentil at ng (AA)mga bayan ng Israel, ay nangagpisanpisan,
28 Upang gawin ang anomang naitakda na ng iyong kamay (AB)at ng iyong pasiya upang mangyari.
29 At ngayon, Panginoon, tingnan mo ang kanilang mga bala: at ipagkaloob mo sa iyong mga alipin na salitain ang iyong salita ng buong katapangan,
30 Samantalang iyong iniuunat ang iyong kamay upang magpagaling; at upang mangyari nawa ang mga tanda at mga kababalaghan (AC)sa pangalan ng iyong banal na si Jesus.
31 At nang sila'y makapanalangin na, ay nayanig (AD)ang dakong pinagkakatipunan nila; at nangapuspos silang lahat (AE)ng Espiritu Santo, at kanilang sinalita na may katapangan ang salita ng Dios.
32 At ang karamihan ng mga nagsisampalataya ay nangagkakaisa ang puso at kaluluwa: at sinoma'y walang nagsabing kaniyang sarili ang anoman sa mga bagay na kaniyang inaari: (AF)kundi lahat nilang pagaari ay sa kalahatan.
33 At (AG)pinatotohanan ng mga apostol na may dakilang kapangyarihan, (AH)ang pagkabuhay na maguli ng Panginoong Jesus: at dakilang biyaya ang sumasa kanilang lahat.
34 Sapagka't walang sinomang nasasalat sa kanila: (AI)palibhasa'y ipinagbili ng lahat ng may mga lupa o mga bahay ang mga ito, at dinala ang mga halaga ng mga bagay na ipinagbili,
35 At ang mga ito'y inilagay sa mga paanan ng mga apostol: (AJ)at ipinamamahagi sa bawa't isa, ayon sa kinakailangan ng sinoman.
36 At si Jose, na pinamagatang (AK)Bernabe ng mga apostol (na kung liliwanagin ay Anak ng pangangaral), isang Levita, tubo sa Chipre,
37 Na may isang bukid, ay ipinagbili ito, at dinala ang salapi at inilagay sa mga paanan ng mga apostol.

Peter and John Before the Sanhedrin
4 The priests and the captain of the temple guard(A) and the Sadducees(B) came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. 2 They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.(C) 3 They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail(D) until the next day. 4 But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew(E) to about five thousand.
5 The next day the rulers,(F) the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas,(G) John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit,(H) said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people!(I) 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame(J) and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,(K) whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead,(L) that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”(N)
13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John(O) and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men,(P) they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.(Q) 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. 15 So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin(R) and then conferred together. 16 “What are we going to do with these men?”(S) they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign,(T) and we cannot deny it. 17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.”
18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.(U) 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him?(V) You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking(W) about what we have seen and heard.”(X)
21 After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people(Y) were praising God(Z) for what had happened. 22 For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.
The Believers Pray
23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.(AA) “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.(AB) 25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:(AC)
“‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.[b]’[c](AD)
27 Indeed Herod(AE) and Pontius Pilate(AF) met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus,(AG) whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.(AH) 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.(AI) 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders(AJ) through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”(AK)
31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.(AL) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit(AM) and spoke the word of God(AN) boldly.(AO)
The Believers Share Their Possessions
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.(AP) 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify(AQ) to the resurrection(AR) of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace(AS) was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them,(AT) brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet,(AU) and it was distributed to anyone who had need.(AV)
36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas(AW) (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.(AX)

4 Während sie aber zum Volk redeten, traten die Priester und der Hauptmann des Tempels und die Sadduzäer auf sie zu. 2 Die verdroß es, daß sie das Volk lehrten und in Jesus die Auferstehung von den Toten verkündigten. 3 Und sie legten Hand an sie und setzten sie ins Gefängnis bis zum folgenden Morgen, denn es war schon Abend. 4 Viele aber von denen, die das Wort gehört hatten, wurden gläubig. Und die Zahl der Männer stieg auf etwa fünftausend.
5 Es geschah aber am folgenden Morgen, daß sich ihre Obersten und Ältesten und Schriftgelehrten in Jerusalem versammelten, 6 auch Hannas, der Hohepriester, und Kajaphas und Johannes und Alexander und alle, die aus hohepriesterlichem Geschlechte waren. 7 Und sie stellten sie in ihre Mitte und fragten sie: Aus welcher Macht oder in welchem Namen habt ihr das getan?
8 Da sprach Petrus, vom heiligen Geist erfüllt, zu ihnen:
Ihr Obersten des Volkes und ihr Ältesten von Israel, 9 wenn wir heute wegen der Wohltat an einem kranken Menschen verhört [und gefragt] werden, durch wen ihm geholfen worden sei, 10 so sei euch allen und dem ganzen Volke Israel kund, daß durch den Namen Jesu Christi, des Nazareners, den ihr gekreuzigt, den Gott von den Toten auferweckt hat, daß durch ihn dieser gesund vor euch steht. 11 Das ist
der Stein, der von euch, den Bauleuten, verschmäht wurde, der zum Eckstein[a] geworden ist.
12 Und es ist in keinem andern das Heil; denn es ist auch kein anderer Name unter dem Himmel den Menschen gegeben, in welchem wir sollen gerettet werden!
13 Als sie aber die Freimütigkeit des Petrus und Johannes sahen und erfuhren, daß sie ungelehrte Leute und Laien seien, verwunderten sie sich und erkannten sie, daß sie mit Jesus gewesen waren. 14 Da sie aber den Menschen bei ihnen stehen sahen, der geheilt worden war, konnten sie nichts dagegen sagen. 15 Da hießen sie sie aus dem Hohen Rate abtreten und beratschlagten miteinander und sprachen: 16 Was wollen wir diesen Menschen tun? Denn daß ein offenkundiges Zeichen durch sie geschehen ist, das ist allen Bewohnern von Jerusalem bekannt, und wir können es nicht leugnen. 17 Aber damit es sich nicht weiter unter dem Volk verbreite, wollen wir ihnen ernstlich drohen, damit sie hinfort mit keinem Menschen mehr von diesem Namen reden.
18 Und sie ließen sie rufen und geboten ihnen, durchaus nicht mehr in dem Namen Jesu zu reden noch zu lehren. 19 Petrus aber und Johannes antworteten ihnen und sprachen: Entscheidet ihr selbst, ob es vor Gott recht ist, euch mehr zu gehorchen als Gott; 20 denn es ist uns unmöglich, nicht von dem zu reden, was wir gesehen und gehört haben.
21 Sie aber drohten ihnen noch weiter und ließen sie frei, weil sie keinen Weg fanden, sie zu bestrafen, wegen des Volkes; denn alle priesen Gott über dem, was geschehen war; 22 denn der Mensch war über vierzig Jahre alt, an welchem dieses Zeichen der Heilung geschehen war.
Denkwürdige Gebetsversammlung
23 Als sie aber freigelassen waren, kamen sie zu den Ihrigen und verkündigten alles, was die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten zu ihnen gesagt hatten. 24 Sie aber, da sie es hörten, erhoben einmütig ihre Stimme zu Gott und sprachen: Herr, du bist der Gott, der den Himmel und die Erde und das Meer und alles, was darinnen ist, gemacht hat; 25 der du durch den Mund unsres Vaters David, deines Knechtes, gesagt hast:
„Warum toben die Heiden und nehmen sich die Völker vor, was umsonst ist?
26 Die Könige der Erde treten zusammen, und die Fürsten versammeln sich miteinander wider den Herrn und wider seinen Gesalbten.“
27 Ja wahrlich, es haben sich versammelt in dieser Stadt wider deinen heiligen Sohn Jesus, welchen du gesalbt hast, Herodes und Pontius Pilatus mit den Heiden und dem Volke Israel, 28 zu tun, was deine Hand und dein Rat zuvor beschlossen hatte, daß es geschehen sollte. 29 Und nun, Herr, siehe an ihre Drohungen und verleihe deinen Knechten, mit aller Freimütigkeit dein Wort zu reden; 30 indem du deine Hand ausstreckst zur Heilung, und daß Zeichen und Wunder geschehen durch den Namen deines heiligen Sohnes Jesus!
31 Und als sie gebetet hatten, erbebte die Stätte, wo sie versammelt waren, und sie wurden alle mit dem heiligen Geist erfüllt und redeten das Wort Gottes mit Freimütigkeit.
Brüderliche Einheit der Gläubigen
32 Die Menge der Gläubigen aber war ein Herz und eine Seele; und auch nicht einer sagte, daß etwas von seinen Gütern sein eigen sei, sondern alles war ihnen gemeinsam. 33 Und mit großer Kraft legten die Apostel das Zeugnis ab von der Auferstehung des Herrn Jesus, und große Gnade war auf ihnen allen. 34 Es litt auch niemand unter ihnen Mangel; denn die, welche Besitzer von Äckern oder Häusern waren, verkauften sie und brachten den Erlös des Verkauften 35 und legten ihn den Aposteln zu Füßen; und man teilte einem jeglichen aus, je nachdem einer es bedurfte.
36 Joses aber, von den Aposteln zubenannt Barnabas (das heißt übersetzt: “Sohn des Trostes“), ein Levit, aus Cypern gebürtig, 37 der einen Acker hatte, verkaufte ihn, brachte das Geld und legte es den Aposteln zu Füßen.

3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
