A Calm Resolve to Wait for the Salvation of God

To the Chief Musician. To ^(A)Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

62 Truly ^(B)my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation.
²He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my ^[a]defense;
I shall not be greatly ^(C)moved.^[b]

³How long will you attack a man?
You shall be slain, all of you,
^(D)Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
⁴They only consult to cast him down from his high position;
They ^(E)delight in lies;
They bless with their mouth,
But they curse inwardly. Selah

⁵My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my ^[c]expectation is from Him.
⁶He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be ^[d]moved.
⁷^(F)In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.

⁸Trust in Him at all times, you people;
^(G)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah

⁹^(H)Surely men of low degree are ^[e]a vapor,
Men of high degree are a lie;
If they are weighed on the scales,
They are altogether lighter than vapor.
¹⁰Do not trust in oppression,
Nor vainly hope in robbery;
^(I)If riches increase,
Do not set your heart on them.

¹¹God has spoken once,
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God.
¹²Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;
For ^(J)You ^[f]render to each one according to his work.

62 Samo je u Bogu moja duša smirena,
    jedino u njemu je sigurna.
²Samo on je moja stijena i moje spasenje.
    On je moja utvrda,
    gdje me nitko ne potresa.

³Dokle ćete me napadati?
    Svi me želite oboriti
dok sam poput nagnutog zida
    ili klimave ograde.
⁴Urotu su skovali protiv mene,
    da me s uzvišenog mjesta obore.
Uživaju u lažima,
    ustima blagoslivljaju,
    a u sebi proklinju. Selah

⁵Samo je u Bogu moja duša smirena,
    on mi je nada jedina.
⁶Samo on je moja stijena i moje spasenje.
    On je moja utvrda
    gdje me nitko ne potresa.

⁷On me izbavlja i brani moju čast.
    Bog mi je čvrsta stijena i utočište.
⁸Ljudi, u njega se uvijek pouzdajte,
    svoje srce pred njim izlijevajte.
    Bog je naše utočište. Selah

⁹Ljudska bića samo su dah,
    u njih se ne može pouzdati.
Da ih se sve izvaže,
    od daha bi lakši bili.
¹⁰Ne oslanjajte se na nasilje,
    ne nadajte se koristi od pljačke.
Ako vam se uveća imetak,
    neka vam se srce za njega ne veže.

¹¹Bog je jednom rekao,
    a ja sam vrlo jasno čuo:
    »Od Boga dolazi snaga!«
¹²Gospodaru, tvoja ljubav je stalna.
    Ti svakom vraćaš prema njegovim djelima.
