Panalangin para Parusahan ng Diyos ang Masasama

Katha ni David upang awitin ng Punong Mang-aawit: ayon sa tono ng “Huwag Mong Sirain”. Isang Miktam.[a]

58 Tama ba ang hatol ng mga pinuno?
    Ang hatol ba ninyo'y pantay at totoo?
Hindi! Pagkat ang inyong binabalangkas
    pawang karahasa't gawaing di tama.

Iyang masasama sa mula't mula pa,
    mula sa pagsilang ay sinungaling na.
Sila'y makamandag, ahas ang kaparis,
    katulad ay kobrang ang tainga ay may takip;
itong mga tawak at salamangkero,
    di niya dinirinig, hindi pansin ito.

Bungiin ang ngipin nila, O Panginoon,
    alisin ang pangil niyong mga leon.
Itapon mo silang katulad ng tubig,
    sa daa'y duruging parang mga yagit.
Parang mga susô, sa dumi magwakas,
    batang di nabuhay sa sangmaliwanag.
Puputulin silang hindi nila batid,
    itatapon ng Diyos sa tindi ng galit;
    bagaman buháy pa'y iyon na ang sinapit.

10 Ang mga matuwid nama'y magagalak kung ang masasama'y parusahang ganap;
    pagkakita nila sa dugong dumanak, hindi mangingiming doon na tumahak.
11 Saka sasabihin ng mga nilalang, “Ang mga matuwid ay gantimpalaan;
    tunay ngang may Diyos, na hukom ng lahat!”

God Who Judges the Earth

To the choirmaster: according to (A)Do Not Destroy. A (B)Miktam[a] of David.

58 Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods?[b]
    Do you judge the children of man uprightly?
No, in your hearts you devise wrongs;
    your hands (C)deal out violence on earth.
The wicked are (D)estranged from the womb;
    they go astray from birth, speaking lies.
(E)They have venom like the venom of a serpent,
    like the deaf adder that stops its ear,
so that it (F)does not hear the voice of charmers
    or of the cunning enchanter.
O God, (G)break the teeth in their mouths;
    tear out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!
Let them (H)vanish like water that runs away;
    when he (I)aims his arrows, let them be blunted.
Let them be like the snail (J)that dissolves into slime,
    like (K)the stillborn child who never sees the sun.
Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of (L)thorns,
    whether green or ablaze, may he (M)sweep them away![c]
10 (N)The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance;
    he will (O)bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 Mankind will say, “Surely there is (P)a reward for the righteous;
    surely there is a God who (Q)judges on earth.”
