(B)Malagay ang aking dalangin na parang kamangyan sa harap mo;
(E)Maglagay ka ng bantay, Oh Panginoon, sa harap ng aking bibig;
(G)Sugatan ako ng matuwid, magiging kagandahan pa ng loob;
At sawayin niya ako, magiging parang langis sa ulo;
Ang kanilang mga hukom ay nangahagis sa mga tabi ng malaking bato;

Give Ear to My Voice

A Psalm of David.

141 O Lord, I call upon you; (A)hasten to me!
    Give ear to my voice when I call to you!
Let (B)my prayer be counted as incense before you,
    and (C)the lifting up of my hands as (D)the evening sacrifice!

(E)Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
    (F)keep watch over the door of my lips!
(G)Do not let my heart incline to any evil,
    to busy myself with wicked deeds
in company with men who (H)work iniquity,
    and (I)let me not eat of their delicacies!

(J)Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness;
    let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head;
    let my head not refuse it.
Yet (K)my prayer is continually against their evil deeds.
When their judges are (L)thrown over the cliff,[a]
    then they shall hear my words, for they are pleasant.
As when one plows and breaks up the earth,
    so shall our bones (M)be scattered at the mouth of Sheol.[b]

But (N)my eyes are toward you, O God, my Lord;
    (O)in you I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless![c]
Keep me from (P)the trap that they have laid for me
    and from the snares of evildoers!
10 Let the wicked (Q)fall into their own nets,
    while I pass by safely.

  3. Psalm 141:8 Hebrew refuge; do not pour out my life!

A psalm of David.

141 I call out to you, Lord. Come quickly to help me.
    Listen to me when I call out to you.
May my prayer come to you like the sweet smell of incense.
    When I lift up my hands in prayer, may it be like the evening sacrifice.

Lord, guard my mouth.
    Keep watch over the door of my lips.
Don’t let my heart be drawn to what is evil.
    Don’t let me join with people who do evil.
    Don’t let me eat their fancy food.

If a godly person hit me, it would be an act of kindness.
    If they would correct me, it would be like pouring olive oil on my head.
    I wouldn’t say no to it.

I will always pray against the things that sinful people do.
    When their rulers are thrown down from the rocky cliffs,
    those evil people will realize that my words were true.
They will say, “As clumps of dirt are left from plowing up the ground,
    so our bones will be scattered near an open grave.”

But Lord and King, I keep looking to you for help.
    I go to you for safety. Don’t let me die.
Keep me from the traps of those who do evil.
    Save me from the traps they have set for me.
10 Let evil people fall into their own nets.
    But let me go safely on my way.

141 Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.

But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
