Psalm 129:3-5

New Living Translation

³My back is covered with cuts,
as if a farmer had plowed long furrows.
⁴But the Lord is good;
he has cut me free from the ropes of the ungodly.

⁵May all who hate Jerusalem^[a]
be turned back in shameful defeat.

³Plowmen have plowed my back
and made their furrows long.
⁴But the Lord is righteous;^(A)
he has cut me free^(B) from the cords of the wicked.”^(C)

⁵May all who hate Zion^(D)
be turned back in shame.^(E)

³The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

⁴The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

⁵Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
