Lalwa Bondye fas ak tradisyon yo
(Mak 7:1-23)
15 Apre sa, kèk farizyen ak pwofesè lalwa ki te soti Jerizalèm te pwoche bò kot Jezi pou poze l yon kesyon. 2 Yo mande Jezi: “Poukisa disip ou yo pa respekte tradisyon granmoun lontan yo? Yo pa lave men yo anvan yo manje!”
3 Jezi reponn yo: “E nou menm, poukisa nou dezobeyi pawòl Bondye pou nou ka swiv koutim ki fè nou plezi yo? 4 Bondye di: Onore papa nou ak manman nou.(A) Epi Nenpòt moun ki derespekte manman l ak papa l merite lanmò.(B) 5 Konsa, nou di moun yo pa bezwen fè anyen pou papa yo ak manman yo, si yo bay lajan nan tanp lan, 6 li pa gen okenn obligasyon pou ede paran l yo. Konsa tradisyon nou yo vin pi enpòtan pase pawòl Bondye. 7 Bann ipokrit! Li parèt aklè pou tout moun Ezayi te gen rezon lè l di:
8 Moun yo ap fè lwanj pou mwen ak bouch yo,
men kè yo lwen mwen.
9 Adorasyon yo ban mwen pa gen okenn valè,
paske se kòmandman pa yo y ap anseye.”(C)
10 Jezi pale ak foul moun yo epi li di yo: “Louvri zòrèy nou byen pou n ka tande epi konprann sa m pral di nou an: 11 Se pa sa k ap antre nan bouch yon nonm ki fè l diskalifye pou adore Bondye, men se sa k ap sòti nan bouch li.”
12 Apre sa disip Jezi yo pwoche bò kote li, epi yo di l: “Èske ou reyalize sa w di a pa fè pwofesè lalwa yo ak farizyen yo fache anpil?”
13 Jezi reponn yo: “Si se pa Papa m ki nan syèl la ki plante yon plant, menm rasin li p ap ka ret anba tè. 14 Kouri lwen Farizyen yo! Yo pran pòz lidè yo, men yo tankou avèg k ap kondui avèg. Si yon moun avèg ap mennen yon lòt avèg, yo pa lwen tonbe nan yon menm twou.”
15 Apre sa, Pyè di Jezi: “Èske w ka ban nou plis eksplikasyon sou konparezon w sot fè a?”
16 Jezi di yo: “Menm nou menm tou, nou pa konprann? 17 Nou pa konprann, tout sa ki antre nan bouch desann nan vant. Epi apre sa, nou jete l nan latrin? 18 Men sa k sot nan bouch se nan kè li sòti. Se sa ki sal yon moun. 19 Se nan kè move panse soti. Se nan move panse ak tout lòt bagay yo ye, tankou touye moun, adiltè, fònikasyon, vòlè, bay manti, tripotay. 20 Se bagay sa yo ki sal moun. Men manje san lave men pa sal yon moun.”
Jezi ede yon madanm ki pa t Jwif

21 Jezi kite zòn kote l te ye a pou l ale nan zòn Tir ak Sidon. 22 Yon dam moun peyi Kanaran, ki t ap viv nan zòn lan, te vin kote Jezi. Li t ap rele Jezi avèk yon vwa byen fò: “Senyè, Pitit David la, ede m non! Pitit fi m lan gen yon demon sou li k ap fè l soufri anpil.”
23 Men Jezi bay dam nan bèl vag. Lè disip yo wè sa, yo pwoche bò kote Jezi, yo di li: “Tanpri, fè yon bagay pou li pou n ka debarase avè l! Nou bouke tande vwa l, epi kote nou fè li fè dèyè nou!”
24 Jezi reponn yo: “Misyon m limite. Bondye voye m sèlman pou moun pèp Izrayèl yo ki tankou mouton ki pèdi patiray.”
25 Lè sa a, dam nan pwoche pi pre Jezi, li lage kò l atè nan pye li, epi l di: “Tanpri Senyè, ede m!”
26 Jezi reponn li: “Li pa bon pou pran manje ti moun yo voye bay chyen!”
27 Dam lan reponn: “Senyè, ou gen rezon! Men, chyen yo ki anba tab la, konn manje ti moso manje ti moun yo ki tonbe atè sot sou tab mèt yo.”
28 Jezi di dam nan: “Madanm, ou gen yon lafwa ki san parèy! Se pou sa w mande a rive jan w swete l la!” Menm lè a, pitit fi dam nan te geri.
Jezi geri anpil moun
29 Jezi kite kote l te ye a, li ale bò lak Galile a. Li monte sou yon mòn, li chita pou l te kapab anseye.
30 Yon gwo foul moun te reyini. Nan mitan foul la, te gen moun ki bwate, moun ki avèg, moun ki enfim, moun ki bèbè, ak tout lòt kalite maladi. Yo te depoze yo nan pye Jezi. Li te geri tout, san manke youn. 31 Moun ki te la yo te sezi anpil lè yo wè bèbè yo pale, enfim yo geri, bwate yo ap mache dwat, avèg yo wè. Lè sa a, yo pran fè louanj Bondye pèp Izrayèl la.
Jezi bay plis pase 4,000 moun manje

32 Jezi rele disip li yo, epi l di yo: “Mwen santi kè m fè m mal pou moun yo. Sa fè twa jou depi yo la avè m, epi kounye a yo pa gen anyen pou yo manje. Mwen pa vle voye yo ale konsa, pou yo pa tonbe feblès nan wout.”
33 Disip Jezi yo di l: “Kote nou pral jwenn pen achte nan peyi pèdi sa a pou n bay tout kantite moun sa yo manje?”
34 Jezi mande yo: “Konbyen pen nou genyen?” Yo di li: “Nou gen sèt pen ak kèk ti pwason.”
35 Jezi mande moun yo pou yo chita atè a. 36 Apre sa, li pran sèt pen yo, ak ti pwason yo. Li di Bondye mèsi. Li kase yo, epi li bay disip li yo pou y al distribye bay moun yo. 37 Tout moun yo te manje vant deboutonnen. Lè disip yo ranmase moso moun yo pa t ka manje ankò, yo jwenn sèt panye plen rabouch. 38 Te gen 4,000 moun ki te manje jou sa a, san konte medam yo ak ti moun yo. 39 Apre Jezi fin voye tout moun ale, li monte nan yon bato pou l ale nan zòn Magadan.

Traditions and Commandments
15 (A)Then Pharisees and (B)scribes came to Jesus (C)from Jerusalem and said, 2 (D)“Why do your disciples break (E)the tradition of the elders? (F)For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” 3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, (G)‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, (H)‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,”[a] 6 he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have (I)made void the word[b] of God. 7 (J)You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:
8 (K)“‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
9 in vain do they worship me,
teaching as (L)doctrines the commandments of men.’”
What Defiles a Person
10 And he called the people to him and said to them, (M)“Hear and understand: 11 (N)it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” 12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were (O)offended when they heard this saying?” 13 He answered, (P)“Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted (Q)will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; (R)they are blind guides.[c] And (S)if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15 But Peter said to him, (T)“Explain the parable to us.” 16 And he said, (U)“Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not see that (V)whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled?[d] 18 But (W)what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19 For out of the heart come (X)evil thoughts, (Y)murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, (Z)slander. 20 (AA)These are what defile a person. But (AB)to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
The Faith of a Canaanite Woman
21 (AC)And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, (AD)a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, (AE)“Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” 23 But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, (AF)“Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24 He answered, (AG)“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and (AH)knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26 And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and (AI)throw it to the dogs.” 27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat (AJ)the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” 28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, (AK)great is your faith! (AL)Let it be done for you as you desire.” (AM)And her daughter was (AN)healed instantly.[e]
Jesus Heals Many
29 (AO)Jesus went on from there and walked (AP)beside the Sea of Galilee. And he (AQ)went up on the mountain and sat down there. 30 And great crowds came to him, bringing with them (AR)the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and they put them at his feet, and he healed them, 31 (AS)so that the crowd wondered, when they saw the mute speaking, (AT)the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And (AU)they glorified (AV)the God of Israel.
Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand
32 (AW)Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, (AX)“I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” 33 And the disciples said to him, “Where are we to get enough bread in such a desolate place to feed so great a crowd?” 34 And Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, (AY)“Seven, and a few small fish.” 35 And directing the crowd to sit down on the ground, 36 he took the seven loaves and the fish, and (AZ)having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 37 And (BA)they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces left over. 38 Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 And after sending away the crowds, he got into the boat and went to the region of (BB)Magadan.

Defilement Comes from Within(A)
15 Then (B)the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, 2 (C)“Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, (D)‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, (E)‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, (F)“Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— 6 then he need not honor his father [a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the [b]commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 (G)Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
8 ‘These(H) people [c]draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
(I)Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
10 (J)When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 (K)Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
13 But He answered and said, (L)“Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. (M)They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
15 (N)Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
16 So Jesus said, (O)“Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that (P)whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But (Q)those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 (R)For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
A Gentile Shows Her Faith(S)
21 (T)Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, (U)Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
23 But He answered her not a word.
And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”
24 But He answered and said, (V)“I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little (W)dogs.”
27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, (X)great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Jesus Heals Great Multitudes(Y)
29 (Z)Jesus departed from there, (AA)skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there. 30 (AB)Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, [d]maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ (AC)feet, and He healed them. 31 So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the [e]maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they (AD)glorified the God of Israel.
Feeding the Four Thousand(AE)
32 (AF)Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”
33 (AG)Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?”
34 Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?”
And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.”
35 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. 36 And (AH)He took the seven loaves and the fish and (AI)gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. 37 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. 38 Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 (AJ)And He sent away the multitude, got into the boat, and came to the region of [f]Magdala.

That Which Defiles(A)
15 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”(B)
3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’[a](C) and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[b](D) 5 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ 6 they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.(E)’[c](F)”
10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them,(G) but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”(H)
12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
13 He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted(I) will be pulled up by the roots. 14 Leave them; they are blind guides.[d](J) If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”(K)
15 Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”(L)
16 “Are you still so dull?”(M) Jesus asked them. 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart,(N) and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.(O) 20 These are what defile a person;(P) but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”
The Faith of a Canaanite Woman(Q)
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.(R) 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David,(S) have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”(T)
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”(U)
25 The woman came and knelt before him.(V) “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith!(W) Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand(X)(Y)(Z)
29 Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. 30 Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.(AA) 31 The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.(AB)
32 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people;(AC) they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”
33 His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?”
34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.
“Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”
35 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them(AD) and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.(AE) 38 The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.
