24 Comme Jésus s'en allait, au sortir du temple, ses disciples s'approchèrent pour lui en faire remarquer les constructions.
2 Mais il leur dit: Voyez-vous tout cela? Je vous le dis en vérité, il ne restera pas ici pierre sur pierre qui ne soit renversée.
3 Il s'assit sur la montagne des oliviers. Et les disciples vinrent en particulier lui faire cette question: Dis-nous, quand cela arrivera-t-il, et quel sera le signe de ton avènement et de la fin du monde?
4 Jésus leur répondit: Prenez garde que personne ne vous séduise.
5 Car plusieurs viendront sous mon nom, disant: C'est moi qui suis le Christ. Et ils séduiront beaucoup de gens.
6 Vous entendrez parler de guerres et de bruits de guerres: gardez-vous d'être troublés, car il faut que ces choses arrivent. Mais ce ne sera pas encore la fin.
7 Une nation s'élèvera contre une nation, et un royaume contre un royaume, et il y aura, en divers lieux, des famines et des tremblements de terre.
8 Tout cela ne sera que le commencement des douleurs.
9 Alors on vous livrera aux tourments, et l'on vous fera mourir; et vous serez haïs de toutes les nations, à cause de mon nom.
10 Alors aussi plusieurs succomberont, et ils se trahiront, se haïront les uns les autres.
11 Plusieurs faux prophètes s'élèveront, et ils séduiront beaucoup de gens.
12 Et, parce que l'iniquité se sera accrue, la charité du plus grand nombre se refroidira.
13 Mais celui qui persévérera jusqu'à la fin sera sauvé.
14 Cette bonne nouvelle du royaume sera prêchée dans le monde entier, pour servir de témoignage à toutes les nations. Alors viendra la fin.
15 C'est pourquoi, lorsque vous verrez l'abomination de la désolation, dont a parlé le prophète Daniel, établie en lieu saint, -que celui qui lit fasse attention! -
16 alors, que ceux qui seront en Judée fuient dans les montagnes;
17 que celui qui sera sur le toit ne descende pas pour prendre ce qui est dans sa maison;
18 et que celui qui sera dans les champs ne retourne pas en arrière pour prendre son manteau.
19 Malheur aux femmes qui seront enceintes et à celles qui allaiteront en ces jours-là!
20 Priez pour que votre fuite n'arrive pas en hiver, ni un jour de sabbat.
21 Car alors, la détresse sera si grande qu'il n'y en a point eu de pareille depuis le commencement du monde jusqu'à présent, et qu'il n'y en aura jamais.
22 Et, si ces jours n'étaient abrégés, personne ne serait sauvé; mais, à cause des élus, ces jours seront abrégés.
23 Si quelqu'un vous dit alors: Le Christ est ici, ou: Il est là, ne le croyez pas.
24 Car il s'élèvera de faux Christs et de faux prophètes; ils feront de grands prodiges et des miracles, au point de séduire, s'il était possible, même les élus.
25 Voici, je vous l'ai annoncé d'avance.
26 Si donc on vous dit: Voici, il est dans le désert, n'y allez pas; voici, il est dans les chambres, ne le croyez pas.
27 Car, comme l'éclair part de l'orient et se montre jusqu'en occident, ainsi sera l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.
28 En quelque lieu que soit le cadavre, là s'assembleront les aigles.
29 Aussitôt après ces jours de détresse, le soleil s'obscurcira, la lune ne donnera plus sa lumière, les étoiles tomberont du ciel, et les puissances des cieux seront ébranlées.
30 Alors le signe du Fils de l'homme paraîtra dans le ciel, toutes les tribus de la terre se lamenteront, et elles verront le Fils de l'homme venant sur les nuées du ciel avec puissance et une grande gloire.
31 Il enverra ses anges avec la trompette retentissante, et ils rassembleront ses élus des quatre vents, depuis une extrémité des cieux jusqu'à l'autre.
32 Instruisez-vous par une comparaison tirée du figuier. Dès que ses branches deviennent tendres, et que les feuilles poussent, vous connaissez que l'été est proche.
33 De même, quand vous verrez toutes ces choses, sachez que le Fils de l'homme est proche, à la porte.
34 Je vous le dis en vérité, cette génération ne passera point, que tout cela n'arrive.
35 Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront point.
36 Pour ce qui est du jour et de l'heure, personne ne le sait, ni les anges des cieux, ni le Fils, mais le Père seul.
37 Ce qui arriva du temps de Noé arrivera de même à l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.
38 Car, dans les jours qui précédèrent le déluge, les hommes mangeaient et buvaient, se mariaient et mariaient leurs enfants, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche;
39 et ils ne se doutèrent de rien, jusqu'à ce que le déluge vînt et les emportât tous: il en sera de même à l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.
40 Alors, de deux hommes qui seront dans un champ, l'un sera pris et l'autre laissé;
41 de deux femmes qui moudront à la meule, l'une sera prise et l'autre laissée.
42 Veillez donc, puisque vous ne savez pas quel jour votre Seigneur viendra.
43 Sachez-le bien, si le maître de la maison savait à quelle veille de la nuit le voleur doit venir, il veillerait et ne laisserait pas percer sa maison.
44 C'est pourquoi, vous aussi, tenez-vous prêts, car le Fils de l'homme viendra à l'heure où vous n'y penserez pas.
45 Quel est donc le serviteur fidèle et prudent, que son maître a établi sur ses gens, pour leur donner la nourriture au temps convenable?
46 Heureux ce serviteur, que son maître, à son arrivée, trouvera faisant ainsi!
47 Je vous le dis en vérité, il l'établira sur tous ses biens.
48 Mais, si c'est un méchant serviteur, qui dise en lui-même: Mon maître tarde à venir,
49 s'il se met à battre ses compagnons, s'il mange et boit avec les ivrognes,
50 le maître de ce serviteur viendra le jour où il ne s'y attend pas et à l'heure qu'il ne connaît pas,
51 il le mettra en pièces, et lui donnera sa part avec les hypocrites: c'est là qu'il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents.

24 Jesús salió del Templo y mientras caminaba se acercaron sus discípulos y le mostraron los edificios del Templo.
2 Pero él dijo:
—¿Ven todo esto? Les aseguro que no quedará piedra sobre piedra, pues todo será derribado.
3 Más tarde, estaba Jesús sentado en el monte de los Olivos cuando llegaron los discípulos y le preguntaron en privado:
—¿Cuándo sucederá eso y cuál será la señal de tu venida y del fin del mundo?[a]
4 —Tengan cuidado de que nadie los engañe —les advirtió Jesús—. 5 Vendrán muchos que, usando mi nombre, dirán: “Yo soy el Cristo”, y engañarán a muchos. 6 Ustedes oirán de guerras y de rumores de guerras, pero procuren no alarmarse. Es necesario que eso suceda, pero no será todavía el fin. 7 Se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino. Habrá hambre y terremotos en diferentes lugares. 8 Todo esto será apenas el comienzo de los dolores.
9 »Entonces los entregarán para que los persigan y los maten, y los odiarán todas las naciones por causa de mi nombre. 10 En aquel tiempo muchos se apartarán de la fe; unos a otros se traicionarán y se odiarán; 11 y surgirá un gran número de falsos profetas que engañarán a muchos. 12 Habrá tanta maldad que el amor de muchos se enfriará, 13 pero el que se mantenga firme hasta el fin será salvo. 14 Y este evangelio del reino se predicará en todo el mundo como testimonio a todas las naciones; entonces vendrá el fin.
15 »Así que, cuando vean en el lugar santo “la abominación que causa destrucción”,[b] de la que habló el profeta Daniel (el que lee, que lo entienda), 16 entonces los que estén en Judea huyan a las montañas. 17 El que esté en la azotea no baje a llevarse nada de su casa. 18 Y el que esté en el campo no regrese para buscar su capa. 19 ¡Ay de las que estén embarazadas o amamantando en aquellos días! 20 Oren para que su huida no suceda en invierno ni en sábado. 21 Porque habrá una gran tribulación, como no la ha habido desde el principio del mundo hasta ahora ni la habrá jamás. 22 Si no se acortaran esos días, nadie sobreviviría, pero por causa de los elegidos se acortarán. 23 Entonces, si alguien les dice: “¡Miren, aquí está el Cristo!” o “¡Allí está!”, no lo crean. 24 Porque surgirán falsos Cristos y falsos profetas que harán grandes señales y milagros para engañar, de ser posible, aun a los elegidos. 25 Fíjense que se lo he dicho a ustedes de antemano.
26 »Por eso, si les dicen: “¡Miren que está en el desierto!”, no salgan; o: “¡Miren que está en la casa!”, no lo crean. 27 Porque así como el relámpago que sale del oriente se ve hasta en el occidente, así será la venida del Hijo del hombre. 28 Donde esté el cadáver, allí se reunirán los buitres.
29 »Inmediatamente después de la tribulación de aquellos días,
»“se oscurecerá el sol
y no brillará más la luna;
las estrellas caerán del cielo
y los cuerpos celestes serán sacudidos”.[c]
30 »La señal del Hijo del hombre aparecerá en el cielo y se angustiarán todos los pueblos de la tierra. Verán al Hijo del hombre venir sobre las nubes del cielo con poder y gran gloria. 31 Y al sonido de la gran trompeta mandará a sus ángeles, y reunirán de los cuatro vientos a los elegidos, de un extremo al otro del cielo.
32 »Aprendan de la higuera esta lección: Tan pronto como se ponen tiernas sus ramas y brotan sus hojas, ustedes saben que el verano está cerca. 33 Igualmente, cuando vean todas estas cosas, sepan que el tiempo está cerca, a las puertas. 34 Les aseguro que no pasará esta generación hasta que todas estas cosas sucedan. 35 El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras jamás pasarán.

36 »Pero en cuanto al día y la hora, nadie lo sabe, ni siquiera los ángeles del cielo, ni el Hijo,[d] sino solo el Padre. 37 La venida del Hijo del hombre será como en tiempos de Noé. 38 Porque en los días antes del diluvio comían, bebían, se casaban y daban en casamiento, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca; 39 y no supieron nada de lo que sucedería hasta que llegó el diluvio y se los llevó a todos. Así será en la venida del Hijo del hombre. 40 Estarán dos hombres en el campo: uno será llevado y el otro será dejado. 41 Dos mujeres estarán moliendo: una será llevada y la otra será dejada.
42 »Por lo tanto, manténganse despiertos porque no saben qué día vendrá su Señor. 43 Pero entiendan esto: si un dueño de casa supiera a qué hora de la noche va a llegar el ladrón, se mantendría despierto para no dejarlo forzar la entrada. 44 Por eso también ustedes deben estar preparados, porque el Hijo del hombre vendrá cuando menos lo esperen.
45 »¿Quién es el siervo fiel y prudente a quien su señor ha dejado encargado de los sirvientes para darles la comida a su debido tiempo? 46 Dichoso el siervo cuando su señor, al regresar, lo encuentra cumpliendo con su deber. 47 Les aseguro que lo pondrá a cargo de todos sus bienes. 48 Pero ¿qué tal si ese siervo malo se pone a pensar: “Mi señor se está demorando” 49 y luego comienza a golpear a sus compañeros, a comer y beber con los borrachos? 50 El señor de ese siervo volverá el día en que el siervo menos lo espere y a la hora menos pensada. 51 Lo castigará severamente y le impondrá la condena que reciben los hipócritas.[e] Entonces habrá llanto y crujir de dientes.

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times(A)
24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another;(B) every one will be thrown down.”
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives,(C) the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming(D) and of the end of the age?”(E)
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.(F) 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.(G) 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.(H) There will be famines(I) and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted(J) and put to death,(K) and you will be hated by all nations because of me.(L) 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets(M) will appear and deceive many people.(N) 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(O) 14 And this gospel of the kingdom(P) will be preached in the whole world(Q) as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place(R) ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a](S) spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop(T) go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!(U) 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.(V)
22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect(W) those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.(X) 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders(Y) to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning(Z) that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming(AA) of the Son of Man.(AB) 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.(AC)
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[b](AD)
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn(AE) when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,(AF) with power and great glory.[d] 31 And he will send his angels(AG) with a loud trumpet call,(AH) and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door.(AI) 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.(AJ) 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.(AK)
The Day and Hour Unknown(AL)(AM)
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father.(AN) 37 As it was in the days of Noah,(AO) so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,(AP) up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.(AQ) 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.(AR) 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.(AS)
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.(AT) 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming,(AU) he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready,(AV) because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant,(AW) whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.(AX) 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.(AY) 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.(AZ) 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.(BA)

24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
