王宴客的比喻
22 耶穌又用比喻對他們說： 2 「天國就像一個王為兒子籌備婚宴。 3 他派奴僕去請受邀的客人，可是客人都不肯赴宴。 4 王再派其他奴僕去，說，『去告訴被邀請的人，我的宴席已經備好，公牛和肥畜都宰了，一切都預備妥當，來赴婚宴吧！』 5 那些人卻毫不理會地走了，一個去種田，一個去做買賣， 6 其餘的竟然抓住王的奴僕，把他們羞辱一番後殺了。 7 王大怒，派軍隊去剿滅凶手，燒毀他們的城。
8 「然後，他對奴僕說，『婚宴已預備好了，只是被邀請的人不配。 9 所以你們到街頭巷尾，把所有見到的人都請來。』 10 奴僕到街上把遇到的人都請了來，好人壞人都有，大廳裡滿了客人。
11 「王出來會見在座的客人，發現有一個人沒有穿禮服， 12 就問他，『朋友，你來這裡怎麼不穿婚宴的禮服呢？』那人無言以對。 13 王便吩咐侍從，『把他手腳綁起來丟到外面的黑暗裡，讓他在那裡哀哭切齒。』」
14 耶穌又說：「被邀請的人多，選上的人少。」
以納稅問題刁難耶穌
15 那時，法利賽人出去策劃怎樣從耶穌的話裡找把柄陷害祂。 16 他們派了自己的門徒跟希律黨人一同去問耶穌：「老師，我們知道你誠實無偽，按真理傳上帝的道，你不徇情面，不以貌取人。 17 那麼請告訴我們，納稅給凱撒對不對呢？」
18 耶穌看出了他們的惡意，就說：「你們這些偽君子，為什麼試探我呢？ 19 拿一個納稅用的錢幣來給我看。」他們就拿給祂一個銀幣。
20 耶穌問他們：「上面刻的是誰的像和名號？」
21 他們說：「凱撒的。」
耶穌說：「那麼，屬於凱撒的東西應該給凱撒，屬於上帝的東西應該給上帝。」 22 他們聽了很驚奇，只好離開祂走了。
論復活
23 同一天，不相信死人會復活的撒都該人也來問耶穌， 24 說：「老師，摩西說，『如果一個人死了，沒有兒女，只留下妻子，他的兄弟就當娶嫂嫂，替哥哥傳宗接代。』 25 從前，我們這裡有弟兄七人，老大結了婚，沒有孩子就死了，把妻子留給了弟弟。 26 二弟、三弟一直到七弟都相繼娶了嫂嫂，都沒留下孩子。 27 最後，那女人也死了。 28 那麼，到復活的時候，她將是誰的妻子呢？因為他們都娶過她。」
29 耶穌說：「你們弄錯了。你們不明白聖經，也不知道上帝的能力。 30 因為到復活的時候，人們將不娶也不嫁，就像天上的天使一樣。
31 「關於死人復活的事，難道你們沒有讀過上帝對你們說過的話嗎？ 32 祂說，『我是亞伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。』上帝不是死人的上帝，而是活人的上帝。」 33 眾人聽到祂的教導都很驚奇。
最大的誡命
34 法利賽人聽見耶穌使撒都該人無言以對，就聚集在一起。 35 其中有位律法專家試探耶穌說： 36 「老師，請問律法中哪一條誡命最重要呢？」
37 耶穌回答說：「『你要全心、全情、全意愛主——你的上帝』， 38 這是第一條也是最重要的誡命。 39 第二條也相似，就是『要愛鄰如己』。 40 律法和先知的全部教導都以這兩條誡命為基礎。」
基督的身分
41 耶穌趁著法利賽人聚在那裡，就問他們： 42 「你們對基督有何看法？祂是誰的後裔？」他們答道：「大衛的後裔。」
43 耶穌說：「那麼，為什麼大衛受聖靈感動，稱祂為主呢？大衛曾說，
44 『主對我主說，
你坐在我的右邊，
等我使你的仇敵伏在你腳下。』
45 既然大衛稱基督為主，基督又怎麼會是大衛的後裔呢？」 46 沒人能回答耶穌的問題。從此再沒有人敢用問題來刁難耶穌了。

King James Version
22 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 And last of all the woman died also.
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

Przypowieść o gościach weselnych
22 Jezus tymczasem znów odwołał się do przykładu. 2 Królestwo Niebios przypomina pewnego króla, który przygotowywał wesele swojemu synowi. 3 Posłał poddanych, by zwołali na uroczystość gości, lecz zaproszeni nie chcieli przyjść.
4 Posłał więc innych poddanych. Powiedzcie zaproszonym — polecił — że pierwsze danie gotowe, mięso czeka na przyrządzenie, wszystko już dopięte. Przyjdźcie na wesele. 5 Oni jednak zlekceważyli zaproszenie i odeszli, jeden na swoje pole, drugi do swego handlu, 6 a pozostali schwytali jego sługi, znieważyli lub pozabijali.
7 Król rozgniewał się, posłał swoje wojsko, wygubił morderców, a ich miasto puścił z dymem. 8 Następnie powiedział do służby: Wesele wprawdzie gotowe, ale zaproszeni nie byli godni. 9 Wyjdźcie więc na skrzyżowania dróg i zaproście na wesele tylu, ilu spotkacie. 10 Słudzy wyszli i sprowadzili napotkanych, złych i dobrych — i zapełniły się miejsca przy stole.
11 Wówczas wszedł król. Chciał przyjrzeć się zaproszonym. Zobaczył wśród nich człowieka nie ubranego w weselną szatę. 12 Jak tu wszedłeś, przyjacielu — zapytał — nie mając weselnej szaty? A ten oniemiał. 13 Król natomiast rozkazał swej służbie: Zwiążcie mu ręce i nogi i wyrzućcie na zewnątrz, w ciemność, tam będzie płacz i zgrzytanie zębami.
14 Wielu bowiem jest zaproszonych, lecz niewielu wybranych.
Jezus i sprawa podatków
15 Wtedy faryzeusze odeszli i uknuli pewien plan. Postanowili przyłapać Jezusa na jakiejś niefortunnej wypowiedzi. 16 Wysłali więc do Niego swoich uczniów oraz zwolenników Heroda z takim zapytaniem: Nauczycielu, wiemy, że jesteś szczery i zgodnie z prawdą uczysz, jak postępować według woli Bożej. Nie wyróżniasz też nikogo, gdyż nie kierujesz się pozorami stwarzanymi przez ludzi. 17 Powiedz nam więc, jakie jest Twoje zdanie: Czy należy płacić podatek cesarzowi, czy też nie?
18 Jezus przejrzał ich zamiary i powiedział: Dlaczego wystawiacie Mnie na próbę, obłudnicy? 19 Pokażcie mi monetę, którą płaci się podatek. Przyniesiono Mu zatem denara. 20 Czyj to wizerunek oraz napis? — zapytał.
21 Cesarza — odpowiedzieli.
Wtedy im powiedział: Co cesarskie, oddawajcie więc cesarzowi, a co Boże — Bogu.
22 Gdy to usłyszeli, opuścili Go i zdziwieni odeszli.
Zagadka o zmartwychwstaniu
23 Tego dnia podeszli do Niego saduceusze. Twierdzą oni, że nie ma zmartwychwstania. Rozpoczęli od takiego przykładu: 24 Nauczycielu! Mojżesz powiedział, że jeśli ktoś umrze bezdzietnie, to brat ma poślubić jego żonę i wzbudzić potomstwo swojemu bratu. 25 Otóż było u nas siedmiu braci. Pierwszy ożenił się i umarł, a ponieważ nie miał potomstwa, zostawił żonę swojemu bratu. 26 Podobnie było z drugim i trzecim — aż do siódmego. 27 Po wszystkich zmarła też kobieta. 28 Przy zmartwychwstaniu więc którego z tych siedmiu będzie żoną? Bo wszyscy ją mieli.
29 Jezus im odpowiedział: Błądzicie, gdyż nie znacie Pism ani mocy Bożej. 30 Po zmartwychwstaniu ludzie nie będą się żenić ani wychodzić za mąż, lecz będą jak aniołowie w niebie.
31 A co do zmartwychwstania, czy nie czytaliście, co wam Bóg powiedział w słowach: 32 Ja jestem Bogiem Abrahama, Bogiem Izaaka i Bogiem Jakuba? Bóg nie jest Bogiem umarłych, lecz żywych.
33 A tłumy, słysząc te słowa, zdumiewały się Jego nauką.
Najważniejsze przykazanie
34 Na wieść o tym, że Jezus zamknął usta saduceuszom, faryzeusze zebrali się razem. 35 Jeden z nich, znawca Prawa, wystawił Jezusa na próbę: 36 Nauczycielu — zapytał — które z przykazań Prawa uznałbyś za najważniejsze?
37 A On mu odpowiedział: Masz kochać Pana, swojego Boga, całym swoim sercem, z całej swojej duszy i każdą swoją myślą. 38 To jest najważniejsze i pierwsze przykazanie. 39 Drugie zaś, podobne temu, brzmi: Masz kochać swojego bliźniego tak, jak samego siebie. 40 Na tych dwóch przykazaniach opiera się całe Prawo i Prorocy.
Boska tożsamość Jezusa
41 Gdy zebrali się faryzeusze, Jezus zapytał ich: 42 Co sądzicie o Chrystusie? Czyim jest synem?
Odpowiedzieli: Dawida.
43 Wówczas ich zapytał: Jak to więc jest, że Dawid natchniony przez Ducha nazywa Go Panem? Przecież mówi:
44 Pan oświadczył memu Panu:
Usiądź po mojej prawicy,
Aż pod Twoje stopy położę Twoich wrogów!
45 Jeśli więc Dawid nazywa Go Panem, jak może On być Jego synem?
46 I nikt nie był w stanie powiedzieć na ten temat ani słowa. Nikt też od tego dnia nie ośmielił się zadawać Mu pytań.
