(A)And they brought to Him a (B)paralyzed man lying on a stretcher. And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man who was paralyzed, (C)Take courage, [a]son; (D)your sins are forgiven.” And some of the scribes said [b]to themselves, “This man is (E)blaspheming!” And Jesus, (F)perceiving their thoughts, said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, ‘(G)Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so that you may know that (H)the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then He *said to the (I)paralyzed man, “Get up, pick up your stretcher and go home.” And he got up and [c]went home. But when the crowds saw this, they were [d]awestruck, and they (J)glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”

But Jesus, (C)knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” And he arose and departed to his house.

Now when the multitudes saw it, they (D)marveled[a] and glorified God, who had given such power to men.
