23 (A)And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but (B)he was asleep. 25 And they went and woke him, saying, (C)“Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” 26 And he said to them, “Why are you (D)afraid, (E)O you of little faith?” Then he rose and (F)rebuked the winds and the sea, and (G)there was a great calm. 27 And the men (H)marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even (I)winds and sea obey him?”

Jesus Calms the Sea(A)

23 When Jesus[a] got into the boat, his disciples went with him. 24 Suddenly, a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat began to be swamped by the waves. Yet Jesus[b] kept sleeping. 25 They[c] went to him and woke him up. “Lord!” they cried, “Save us! We’re going to die!”

26 He asked them, “Why are you afraid, you who have little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

27 The men were amazed. “What kind of man is this?” they asked. “Even the winds and the sea obey him!”
