Jesus Casts Out Demons

^28 (A)When He came to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, two men who were ^(B)demon-possessed met Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way. ²⁹ And they cried out, saying, “^[a](C)What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before ^[b]the time?”

²³ Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, ²⁴ saying, “^(A)What ^[a]business do we have with each other, Jesus ^[b]of ^(B)Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—^(C)the Holy One of God!” ²⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” ²⁶ Throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.

¹⁹ You believe that ^[a](A)God is one. ^(B)You do well; ^(C)the demons also believe, and shudder.
