Jesus Cleanses a Man with Leprosy

When [a]Jesus came down from the mountain, [b]large crowds followed Him. And (A)a man with [c]leprosy came to Him and [d](B)bowed down before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” [e]Jesus reached out with His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his (C)leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus *said to him, (D)See that you tell no one; but (E)go, (F)show yourself to the priest and present the [f]offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

The Centurion’s Faith

And (G)when [g]Jesus entered Capernaum, a [h]centurion came to Him, begging Him, and saying, “[i]Lord, my [j]servant is lying (H)paralyzed at home, terribly tormented.” Jesus *said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion replied, “[k]Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just [l]say the word, and my [m]servant will be healed. For I also am a man under (I)authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” 10 Now when Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those who were following, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith [n]with anyone in Israel. 11 And I say to you that many (J)will come from east and west, and [o]recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; 12 but (K)the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into (L)the outer darkness; in that place (M)there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; [p]it shall be done for you (N)as you have believed.” And the [q]servant was healed at that very [r]moment.

16 He (A)sent from on high, He took me;
He drew me out of (B)many waters.
17 He (C)saved me from my strong enemy,
And from those who hated me, for they were (D)too mighty for me.
18 They confronted me in (E)the day of my disaster,
But (F)the Lord was my support.
19 He also brought me out into an (G)open place;
He rescued me, because (H)He delighted in me.

20 The Lord has (I)rewarded me according to my righteousness;
According to the (J)cleanness of my hands He has repaid me.
21 For I have (K)kept the ways of the Lord,
And have (L)not acted wickedly against my God.
22 For all (M)His judgments were before me,
And I did not put away His (N)statutes from me.
23 I was also [a](O)blameless with Him,
And I (P)kept myself from my wrongdoing.
24 Therefore the Lord has (Q)repaid me according to my righteousness,
According to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes.

25 With (R)the faithful You show Yourself faithful;
With the [b]blameless (S)You prove Yourself blameless;
26 With the pure You show Yourself (T)pure,
And with the crooked (U)You show Yourself [c]astute.
27 For You (V)save an afflicted people,
But You humiliate (W)haughty eyes.
28 For You (X)light my lamp;
The Lord my God (Y)illumines my darkness.
29 For by You I can (Z)run at a [d]troop of warriors;
And by my God I can (AA)leap over a wall.

30 As for God, His way is [e](AB)blameless;
The (AC)word of the Lord is refined;
He is a (AD)shield to all who take refuge in Him.
31 For (AE)who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a (AF)rock, except our God,
32 The God who (AG)encircles me with strength,
And [f]makes my way [g](AH)blameless?
33 He (AI)makes my feet like deer’s feet,
And (AJ)sets me up on my high places.
34 He (AK)trains my hands for battle,
So that my arms can (AL)bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have also given me (AM)the shield of Your salvation,
And Your (AN)right hand upholds me;
And (AO)Your [h]gentleness makes me great.
36 You (AP)enlarge my steps under me,
And my [i](AQ)feet have not slipped.

(A)The [a]beginning of wisdom is: (B)Acquire wisdom;
And with all your possessions, acquire understanding.
(C)Prize her, and she will exalt you;
She will honor you if you embrace her.
She will place (D)on your head a garland of grace;
She will present you with a crown of beauty.”

10 Listen, my son, and (E)accept my sayings,
And the (F)years of your life will be many.
